Really? How do you figure? What changes and/or additions have they made to improve? and their division is getting much better.

Sure, well on the offensive side adding Gonzales will be a huge plus since the majority of the last few seasons we've been playing without a true slot reciever. Allowing Clark to play more at his natural TE position will kick our O up more than a few notches, which is scary in itself since we already have had one of if not the best offense in the league the past few years. Not to mention Addai should continue progressing into one of the best RB's in the league

On the defensive side, many forget that the Colts had one of the worst regular season rushing defenses of all time last year. That being said, how much worse could the colts get this year then?? I look at some addition by subtraction. While Cato June was statisically one of the colts strongest defensive players anyone who actually watched colt games knows the liability he was in the tacking area. Our coaching staff is very high on keicho and I believe he will be a upgrade to Cato as far as not getting trucked and pancaked by recievers

David and Harper were good players, but Marlin Jackson has shown for years he can step up in any positon he's needed at and excell, whether it's sfaety or DB. Kelvin Hayden is a playmaker and I have high confidence in him coming into next year and playing solid

As far as our DLine go Booger McFarland is still here, with the slight chance of Simon returning, we all know about Dwight Freeney . And lord willing Sanders will make a extended appearence in the regular season.(But even if he doesn't we all know what he can do when its crutch time) Many forget how injured the Colts D was the majority of the season, missing doss, sanders, simon, reagor, and thats just the few I can name off the top of my head

that being said, there is my clear argument on why next years version of the colts could very well be better than last years superbowl champions

Just because John Clayton (the dungeon master himself)thinks he is the greatest receiver ever does not make it so since he is the Colts biggest fan. Look, saying your losses are no big deal is ridiculous. You lose both starting corners, a starting middle linebacker, half of the running back tandem (let's see how Addai does full time now), your team is weaker. Corey Simon? Good luck with that one (guy does not like to work out and is done with football, not to mention Polian himself saying he was his worst acquisition ever)...the Colts will always score points. It's stopping the opposition that will be a problem.

So the colts lose a backup RB, 2 corners who were more a product of THE SYSTEM rather than raw talent, and we're doomed.

I can tell your one of those fans who know absolutely nothing about the colts but just hopped on the "Well they lost 3 starters so the sky is falling crowd"

The point is not that the colts didn't lose these players, obviously they did. The point IS that the players lost are easily replaceable in the colts system, which has been operating the same way for about 5 years. If you think the differences between David/Harper and Hayden/Jackson were the difference in the SB championship then you are quite mistaken.

I'm not going to argue the Cato June point again, some people just don't get it

Dominique Rhodes had a hell of a playoff run, that being said I do not doubt that the colts can find a back to provide similar production especially since addai will be taking the majority of the carries this season

It could very well be that the Colts didn't really lose that much in talent-level. The players that left can be replaced by others with similar talent. However, they did lose some in the experience and leadership department. I'm not sure if the players that are supposed to step into the vacated CB and LB spots are up there. And when you promote players, you'll have to find replacements for their back-up positions. Furthermore I don't think any Colts players (apart from their PK ) has had experience playing with a bulls eye on their chest. Becoming a champion is one thing, defending a title is something completely different. Every opponent will be ready to take them on. And it is more the rule than the exception that teams that have won a championship lose a bit off their edge. And it's not just the Pats that will be looking forward to a rematch. I can imagine the Chargers want to make their point on being the best team in the NFL (and/or AFC).
