It's sort of like if Brady were to sit down in front of a TV to watch the Super Bowl game (a replay, obviously) and say "Damn, me sitting at home for the Super Bowl? I'm pulling a Cam Newton".

Agreed but Brady wouldn't say that anywhere near a camera or Smartphone. Thats the difference here.

It is the bigger picture that Newton doesn't grasp - that other top QB's grasp the enormity this issue has become. Also high-profile QBs are in a "club" and more or less have each other's backs. Even though it was a casual setting, it was poor awareness on Newton's part to say what he said.

Cam is still young. He might get it someday.

Maybe. I remember there was a story about Dominique Wilkins getting a statue put up outside where the Hawks play and Larry Bird says, "I'm sure they didn't put him in a defensive stance.". Now, while incredibly funny, that tells me that Bird isn't 100% on the respect meter for Wilkins.

Eh, seems like a mountain's being made out of a molehill. Just a joke that's being blown out of proportion. Newton's only had good things to say about Brady in the past, and he's known for joking around a lot.
