He can hit. He laid someone out on Wisconsin a couple of years ago. He can't really cover worth a damn though.
You could easily have talked about Chung there.

Boy, I'm glad Gregory was off the boards. This dude over Gregory would mean insomnia. He is listed as 6-7 round on the few assessment sites i've seen.

He's wicked smaaart and won't be gunning down locals on city streets. Kid's a saint, a coach, a leader. Brady might even invite him on the jet for next years Derby.

I'm serious:

It sounds like he could compete to win the starting spot. Chung isn't all that.

Rooting for this kid to prove me wrong.

This is the price you pay for having BB as your coach. His ego is huge. He knows he can get him later... he has to know... I would keep BB as my coach but these picks are bad period. No defense.

I can't sit here and say I love the pick but I choose not to count the number of prospects I would have praised Belichick for taking over the years that wish they could be complimented by simply being called a bust. So what do I know?

BB's thought on this is: If you draft solely for need, and screw up the pick, then you're out a pick and you still have the need.
Then maybe he should do it in the seventh round instead of the 2nd like he usually does. Its a good thing he can coach.

I wanted PJ Williams, Tevin Coleman or Jaelen Strong.

I am just drained. I was so happy seeing all those LBs, tackles, and crappy corners going through the whole round. Every pick seemed to be working in the Pats favor. Closer and closer we got and I was so excited. We could have gone in so many directions with all those great players still out there.

And then Bill does that

They should have announced his position at gunner and not safety, too slow to cover and too small to play SS. Maybe we can get a long snapper in the next round.

Who wants a Special Teams player drafted in the 2nd round? I'd want Richards to contribute as a starter for that price.

Yeah, I was thinking they would address offensive line at 64. Seems a bit high for a SS who has the best chance to contribute on ST.

Besides the three cone, his 10-yard-split is okay: 1.58 on a 4.62 40.

He's not a sideline to sideline safety, seems like more a Steven Gregory.

Is there some way to say "This team has been competitive for a decade and a half and has consistently fielded a talented squad despite at times, to both success and failure, ignoring prevailing wisdom and giving us 4 titles in the process so I'm gonna default to believing that they know something everyone else doesn't" without getting labeled a homer?

Because, to be honest, past failures notwithstanding I think it's the most sane starting position.
