Can Calvin play QB? Somebody better tell Gruden that Calvin Johnson is a wide receiver because I think he might be confusing him with Jamarcus Russell. Plummer would love to fill out a roster of Jeff Garcia, Gradkowski, Simms and Russell, no?

He might be able to play QB better than anyone on the roster, but I think there is a definite need at WR. Joey Galloway is older than I am, which can't be good. Mike Clayton has done squat since his rookie year and is pretty much indistinguishable from Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Ike Hilliard is on his last legs, and Maurice Stovall hasn't shown anything yet.

I can't think of a reason NOT to draft Johnson. As of last night, however, trade talks broke down, again according to PFT.

Anybody heard this one yet? It appears that the Falcons want to move up from #8 (Fox Sports?). They are anxious. It seems more choices later on in round one works better for them than just a single move like a Landry (not bad to me!), although they love Landry, Willis and CJ. Maybe they can have their cake and eat it too?

You guys are more in-tune with this stuff than I. The Pats targets seem to be more in round two and three (but who knows with them). Is this unfeasible the Pats swap #24 and #28 to the Falcons for their #39 and #44 in the second and their #75 in the third, plus a Falcons second rounder in 2008?

How do I justify this? The Pats choices are worth 1,500 in the NFL points game, "winner take all" contest and the Falcons 2007 #2's are worth 970 for both plus I believe 215 for #75 in round 3. If we assume that the Falcons will improve and make the playoffs(with three 2007 1st rounders?), that would add maybe 300 points roughly to the Points Game for a 2008 second rounder, or 1485 total. Pretty even.

1) Would you Cousins do this swap?
2) What would you do with #39, #44, #75 and #91 on the first day? Love to see your mocks on that!
3) Do you think the Falcons take #24 and #28 and trade up for Willis they also want, and keep Landry too?
4) Different question. Why would we not take #24 plus our fourth, sixth etc.? and trade up for Willis who is fast becoming the best ILB pic in years to be a Pat according to the talking heads?
5) How is 2008 looking? Two second rounders in 2008 who be a good addition for the Pats 2008 draft. The BB/SP pic stockplie if you prefer.

I will focus on these two points, coz, since it will be a lot less rambling.

4- To get Willis you have to get ahead of Buffallo, 24+anything less then 28 is not going to get you there. If Willis somehow drops where the 24+4th or even 3rd could do it, I could see it happening. But I think the likelyhood of Willis being there past 12 is pretty slim.

6. Too many picks being moved. The Falcons are not going to give up all that and then try and sign three first rounders, one of them being in the top 10. It would be simply too difficult to make work. Though the Patriots would pick up more picks, they would then be up to 12 picks in this draft and then it is a matter of getting value with all of those picks. In the end it would be far to unruly to make happen becuase the value of all the picks is not really clear until the draft unfolds.

However I do see the Falcons as a likely trading partner to unload 1 of our first round picks. Either 28 or 24 for a second this year and a second next since that would get the falcons an extra first this year as well as retian one second round pick next year.
