“Their model is to do whatever it takes to succeed,” Polian said. “No matter what they do, it’s the right thing. They’ve always been the gold standard of putting together a team in this salary-cap era.”

That’s what they’re the best at,” Polian said. “If you find a guy that fits your system and you’re paying the right guy, that’s a secret in the salary-cap era. If you’re paying the wrong guy, you’ve spent money on a non-productive player, and that can be a killer.”

wow he actually sounds like a real GM lol.... hes not whining...

He went on to say, "If you crank up the heat you can really wear down their defense too."

Don't worry. When his team loses in the play-offs next season he'll back to whining and changing NFL rules to accommodate his team.

It is easy to be gracious in victory. The true test of a man is whether he is gracious in defeat, and I think you all know how Polian rates on that score.

Wow! Where did you get this quote? I read the BH link and didn't find it.

After the AFC championship game, I emailed many reporters inquiring about the validity of the argument that the Pats were more tired than the Colts primarily due to the Pats wearing regular jerseys (vs. the Colt's thinner jerseys that could helped them a lot in that artifical high temperature) but got no response.

If true, my hats off to the Colts management for utilizing the HFA to the maximum.

Colts could barley beat a depleted pats team. They needed every advantage they could get. Polian is a sore loser. The one time he does not fail all the sudden he is a gracious person. Just wait until he starts losing again.

I almost wish he had not said that.

It's just a ruse. He's trying to lull the Pats into a false sense of security before trying to screw them over in the owners meeting.

I think the poster you replied to was being droll.

Napolian can praise us all he wants but it still won't stop me from disliking him. Too many past actions on his part.

Seems like there's some kind of Colts-Pats love-in going on these days. Oh well, I've refocussed too. I've got my hate-on for the Chargers.

90 percent of this thread is saying that polian is an ass*ole.

I wasn't referring to the fans. Although, there has been alot of love there too (relatively speaking).

I hate the bugger, but Polian knows how to put a team together.

Good one ...

Very true. Any of you guys catch the parody weei did of him? He heard it then canceled his apperance on the big show.

I hope we wipe that smug smirk of his face this year. For six years they lost.... SIX!

Ummm, we might be a little lacking there too.

Just saying......
