The Offensive Linemen are still in their two point stance. Now guess which is Easley:

How can anyone watch the play at 0:50 and not see the potential to this pick.

Guys-

Check out this Youtube interview after the LSU game in 2012. Really shows what kind of guy he is in terms of being competitive. Strongly recommend watching this.

I like the pick, more or less. Hopefully he stays healthy, but i am a fan of aggressive risk/reward drafting and this fits that mold. Now i hope they get a good tight end tomorrow.

he seems quick but he's not overpowering guys. Seems like he could be decent but I'm not getting my hopes up. There wasn't another guy available that I really wanted so I guess taking the guy with the most upside is cool although that's the opposite of what they normally do in round 1.

He has one of the fastest first steps I have ever seen for a DT his size. Hopefully the braces being on both knees don't impact that too much. Easley's game is based upon just how quickly he's inside the guard's or the center's (he actually has lined up at the 0 under Muschamp from time to time) pads.

I spent the hour after the draft watching tape of Easley and I was very impressed. The fact that he is so versatile as well really helps. I'm not saying he's Justin Smith, but he's a disruptive player.

His speed at the snap isn't just about his explosiveness. He's so quick, it has to be about his eye and reaction times too, two aspects not affected by his dodgy knees.

I still think he's going to keep Jerod Mayo frustratingly busy though. He's going to have to make a lot of tackles now.

I highly doubt the Pats start him as a three down DT. He needs to learn to anchor better against the run. He's only 288 so there's room to build strength to take on the run. But I think we're going to see more Wilfork and Kelly on early downs and possibly Easley and Wilfork/Kelly/Armstead in obvious passing situations.

Dominique Easley | DT, Florida

This is a terrific pick. He would have been a top-10 pick if not for injuries to both knees. He will be a star -- if healthy.

From the CBS Sports Draft Tracker

Easley's that intense, they have to keep him chained up on the sideline:

I think he anchors better than expected against the run. I agree its not just his first step, he does have great reaction time/instincts. His hands are just as explosive and he is very powerful for his size.

As for Jerod Mayo/run defense, I would be pretty happy if Nix fell to us at 62. Probably doesn't happen with Hou, Chi, Pit, Dal between us, but imagine those two players playing next to each other.
