Source: Johnny Manziel spotted in New England, set for a visit with the #Patriots tomorrow. Agent @ErikBurkhardt would not confirm.

Well then!

I wonder why he is visiting the Pats. Obviously we are not in a position to draft him, so i wonder why they would meet with him.

Apparently this isn't April Fools

I'd throw up a little if we drafted him

It's probably going to ascertain which of partying with pornstars or hanging out with homies planning hits he enjoys more.

He'll almost certainly go in the top ten. Just like Aaron Rodgers. You have to be ready just in case.

probably to judge how likely that him and Gronk with become an off-season party duo.

can't wait to read all the stupid this thread will unleash

He has a face I would never tire of punching

Obviously the Patriots are trading Mallet for Houston's #1 overall.

Ooo! ooo! Let me!!

"HEDEDEDURRRR Brady's done management is ready replace him! It's so obvious now HEDURURURUDURRR

They also met with Jake Locker, who went pretty early a few years ago. I don't think they're doing this because they want to draft him but rather to evaluate their evaluation process. Take a look at him, see what he can do, and then form an opinion. Take a look at him in 3-5yrs and compare that to what you projected him to become see how accurate it was and how your evaluation process can be improved.

Just one??

This may be the greatest visit I have ever heard about.

BB is very smart. He will have to face him in the future. All about getting to know his enemy

The NFL network also reported we worked out Blake Bortles in Florida.
Personally, I would rather work out Blake's girlfriend in Florida.

i think belichick realizes that running QBs are the wave of the future

I disagree, I remember reading this edition of Sports Illustrated when I was a kid and they basically said the same thing.

Running QBs don't last, they get a bunch of highlights in some big regular season games and then they fail. Robert Griffen didn't even last a full season before he got injured because he ran and hasn't been nearly the player he was.

The pocket is where it's at, now if you can have a pocket passer that has enough running ability to take empty yards and pick up 1st downs, and force the defense to account for him as a potential threat, now you're onto something. Aaron Rodgers comes to mind.

Think they would. RT @DougKyedNESN: Would the Patriots take Manziel at 29? Maybe, maybe not. That's probably why he's visiting. To find out.

I've stated in the draft forum that if Manziel fell to 25 I would trade up to pass the Browns and draft him. *

*Nothing to do with the "Brady is done" crap. Manziel is #2 behind Donald for players I want in this draft. He's the next elite QB in this league.

Also,

Rodgers was drafted when Favre was 36.
Plummer was drafted when Elway was 37.
Osweiler was drafted when Manning was 37.

I think its naive to think BB wouldn't draft the right QB high.
