I wouldn't hesitate taking Mosley, even if we think we already have our starting LBers. While Collins really came on at the end of last season, I think he would be best utilized as a matchup weapon instead of a base LBer. Use his versatility, keep him fresh and play to his strengths and I think he can be a playmaker for us. I know some people like the idea of a coverage LBer like Shazier early in the draft, why not get a guy that is not only better in coverage but a much better overall player in Mosley. I've been sold on taking a DT in the 1st pretty much throughout the whole process, but Mosley is a top 10 talent that would make me change my mind.
That Dane Brugler mock would be almost ideal for me, especially if we could some how pull off the Mallett to Houston for #33 trade. Mosley at #29 and Hageman at #33 would be a huge upgrade for our front 7. With a lockdown secondary we could then be creative with blitzes, especially utilizing guys like Hightower and Collins to get after the QB. Instead of having one specific 'system' we would have the versatility to play any defense against any team to best suit the matchups.
I like Mosley, but I'd rather have Jordan Tripp or Christian Jones in the 3rd. I think both have more versatility and upside than Mosley.
