How do you know you like the Pats more than the Sox?

When you check ESPNBoston.com hourly... during NFL free agency... for anything, the tiniest morsel of nothingness... and have YET to read ONE box score from Florida...

that's when I know.

I'll die happy if I never hear of this dumb lawn game again.

I hate these stupid threads.

Every September/October day where I have to choose between watching a Sox playoff game or a Pats regular season game, it isn't even a dilemma. Pats, without question. If that doesn't make the priority clear, I dunno what would.

As much as people talk about Boston being a Sox town, I always go back to September of 2007, when the Sox were playing the Yankees down the stretch in a season where they ultimately won the WS, but got annihilated in the ratings by the Pats' week 2 game vs. the Chargers.

Because I'd rather watch a Pats regular season game than a Sox World Series game.

When two-thirds of your Twitter follows are Patriots/NFL related (Players, writers, teams).

People are obsessed with baseball around here and I will never understand why. Baseball is boring, there are 162 games, the games are at least 3 hours long and much of that 3 hours is spend watching the guy in the batters box adjust every aspect of his equipment in between pitches.

If rather have them both win. They are both very good team

I don't believe the passion for the Sox is as deep as it used to be. I think the passion for the Pats is much more palpable these days. Listen to Sports radio around here. Sox calls/discussions used to outnumber Pats calls 2 to 1. That number has now flipped.

If I were emperor, this would be the network priorities:

1.) NFL
2.) NHL
3.) NBA
4.) MLS/Champions League
5.) Rugby
6.) F1
7.) MMA

...

10.) Reruns of Patriots SB wins

...

15.) Horseracing

...

20.) Golf

...

25.) Poker

...

30.) MLB

Don't get me wrong... I've been a rabid Sox fan since 1971... but since they 'broke the curse'... I don't know... the intensity isn't there.

I wouldn't watch baseball if I was being paid hourly to do so, it is like watching paint dry.

I'd rather watch curling training camp than baseball.

And again, people feel so insecure about their football that they have to tear down another sport that people like. How shallow your lives must be that you can only enjoy one thing at a time.

Just to be clear, I am NOT tearing down baseball. Or the Sox!!! It's more a statement of how obsessed I am with the Pats.

when you're a Yankees fan ;)

I love both teams, but the Pats are first. I'm in Ft. Myers Beach now and have been since March 1. I can tell you that if you think the Red Sox fan base lacks commitment and passion for their team, you're mistaken. The number of fans in this area is literally unimaginable. Why is it necessary for some to denigrate some of our local teams? Does it make anyone feel better? I literally wouldn't watch the Bruins if they were playing in my backyard, because I don't like hockey. But, I'm pleased when they do well and don't root against them. Maybe it's a self-security thing.

I have no problem finding the time to watch all the games I want to watch, either live or DVR. This type of threads pop up in every message board I visit. Just substitute Pats for Bruins,Red Sox etc.

Yeah. The people who call sports radio are typical of sports fans.
