Thanks for all your effort, Miguel. This, as always, is great information.

I wonder if the Pats front office feels that same way...lol, I'm only half-kidding.

I am guessing that $30M in cap space would be a lot, esp if we released very few players. how does it compare across the league?

Amazing as usual, beyond the theory, which of these moves do you think they will do?

Amazing as usual, beyond the theory, which of these moves do you think they will do?

1.) Release Isaac Sopoaga – net cap savings of $2.08 million.

2b.) Extend Dan Connolly through the 2015 season converting $2 million of his $3 million salary into a signing bonus – cap savings of $1 million

5.) Extend Gostkowski’s contract by 4 years while giving him a $5 million signing bonus and lowering his salary from $2.9 million to $900,000 – cap savings – $1,000,000

6.) Extend McCourty’s contract by 4 years while giving him a $10 million signing bonus while lowering his 2014 salary from $3.92 million to $1 million – cap savings – $1,000,000

Here are some moves that I think that Patriots may do
2b.) Extend Dan Connolly through the 2015 season converting $2 million of his $3 million salary into a signing bonus – cap savings of $1 million
3a.)Reduce Wilfork’s salary from $7.5 million to $4 million while converting $3.5million of his salary into a NTLBE incentive – cap savings of $3.5 million

Designate Amendola a June 1 designation.

Wow, that would be impressive. Thank you very much.

I am not sure what they are waiting for with Sopoaga, I would have expected him to be long gone by now.

Let's say BB needs to free up more cap $ to re-sign Edes, Talib and a new FA or so. Can't he cut Sopo right then? given the week to week indeterminacy at DT with Wilf & Kel where later = more medical info, I don't see the rush. I think cutting our safety early was a courtesy to him for years of services rendered.
