Despite Loss of Gronkowski, This Season Is Far From Over

A Patriots season is never over with #12 at QB

As proved YET again yesterday (how many is that now over a 100 times?) even AFTER our best offensive weapon went down and had almost no time to not just pull out 1 TD but 2 he still did it. There wasn't even Thompkins or Dobson on the field i believe either.

When you have the greatest QB that's ever lived leading your team, you could even put me or you on the field and he'd find a way to get the ball to you.

So to the people that never quit during the Saints game and then never quit during the Denver game AND THEN never quit yesterday, keep doing what you're doing - BELIEVE.

As Muhsin Muhammed of the Panthers said while sitting on the sidelines at Super Bowl 38 watching Brady: '"It ain't over yet; not with that dude, with that quarterback."

Re: A Patriots season is never over with #12 at QB

Yes. This Patriots team is Tom Brady and now a collection of average offensive weapons. The only other A list player on this offense is now gone for the year. Have no fear. Give him a good OL that can hold off the DL's of Ravens/Cincy/indy/KC/Denver and Seattle, Brady will take us to the promised land (outside of miracle catches). Let's get Cannon back and hope Connolly and Solder step up their game.

Re: A Patriots season is never over with #12 at QB

Heck of an onside kick by Brady....and his recovery was one for the ages. Loved his 50 yard FG as well.
Manning pinpoints 4 TDs passes yesterday and it is because of his great WRs. Brady overthrows his WR , gets the PI call.....and TB does it again!!!
Funny how this works.

Re: A Patriots season is never over with #12 at QB

Of course we have a chance, but teams have been able to choke our Gronkless offense in the past two postseasons. That would be fine if we had the defense we had earlier in the year, but we don't. I would feel better if Dobson were healthy to stretch the field and prevent teams from just clamping down on what is likely to become a dink and dunk type passing offense.

Re: A Patriots season is never over with #12 at QB

Goat's gonna goat.

I just wish that we wake up early in the 1st half and put up some points early. I enjoy watching the man work his magic, but everything had to go right in the 4th. and there will be a day slow start will bite our *****$.

but i hope he QB for us for another 10 years. please retire in 2023.

Same can be said for the defense. Law/Bruschi/Vrabel/Harrison/etc aren't walkin' through the door.

The only other A list player on this offense is now gone for the year.

And on the D? Do we give Talib a B+ or an A-?

In any case, this is a Belichick coached team and they're fun to watch. Well, then again, not so sure about fun, let's call it torture that usually ends with an unbelievable escape!

Re: A Patriots season is never over with #12 at QB

I am a big Pats fan like everyone else, but that D I saw the other day was awful. TB12 can only do so much to carry the team, but I think it will come up short of SB. Not his fault, just ran out of bodies on D and they can't stop the run.

I am already looking forward to the draft and it should be pretty easy to point what direction the team needs to go in. DT/DE, OG and TE.

This season now hangs on Tom's, belichecks and the other coaches shoulders. Tom Brady has to play his 6 best football games to help us reach the promise land. And I believe in him. He has literally taken this offense and put it on his shoulders now. The only thing we can ask is get a couple good bounces and that Tom can do the impossible. It's gonna be a wild ride, hope everyone is ready!

I would have to disagree with you. We all know Tom can score, but can the D stop anyone. I have seen too many 3rd and longs and the D gives it up IE Steelers game 3rd and 30 and they give up 29 1/2 yards on a screen play. Same thing Carolina game 3rd and long several times and they gave it up. There was a 3rd and long in Browns game and they gave up a 21 yard pass play.

It all comes down to can the D make a stop. What stood out in the Browns game was how wide open some of these guys were.

Re: A Patriots season is never over with #12 at QB

Tom Brady is the greatest QB to ever play the game, I honestly don't care what anyone has to say about that. Brady started to play when I could almost completely comprehend the game, I was 11 (I know im young compared to some of you geezers ), so a team without Brady to me feels like there would be a void that needed to be filled. It's obviously a premature statement but I am gonna miss that man when he retires but I'll say it again it's been a privileged to watch the best QB of all time play the game.

Pretty transparent. Be more subtle.

In September, borg will celebrate his tenth (10th!!!) year of trolling the same website. That is absolutely remarkable.

We should have a birthday party thread for him.

another WINNING Thread!

I started recording all of Tom's games up until 2005 on VHS tape (lol)-starting when Drew Bledsoe went out. I was fascinated by how he spread the ball...Faulk...Redmond...T.Brown.....etc etc....

Tom is the BEST.

still waiting for the big one.

still cant get over the NYG ....

and all I care about is DENVER LOSING a.s.a.p..

shut em up
(seattle an sf would be great finshed as well)

Solder has been and can be an A-list player. He hasn't totally lived up to that reputation (banged up?) but I think he's at least been there. Mankins has been there too, but not in quite awhile.

Let's hope Vereen can emerge as one. Sunday was a start.

Re: A Patriots season is never over with #12 at QB

At this point... In order for us to win, brady has to go on a joe flacco type run where he just dominates and carries us to the title.

He has to play 3 Straight GREAT games
