One of the reasons I was ok with Welker's departure it was to see this happening.

And consider this, Dobson was out, Hooman out, Boyce is on his red shirt year.

We scored 34 points on a very good defense, on the road. Scoring consistently, with a below average running game.

Fixing the RB position and adding another stud TE and this offense will get back to the blowout stage.

We started the reason with high hopes on Amendola and the rookies drafted. Well, Edelman turn into a playmaker and Thompkins is a very good prospect becoming reality.

The rookies are playing as expected, no disappointment so far, imho.

I still have faith that Amendola will have great years in NE, the rookies still have plenty of room to improve. No need to draft another receiver and FA I would just add depth if necessary.

I think we can look for TE and OL on the next draft, on the offensive side of the ball, all the other picks should be used on defensive players.

This is how it should be :rocker:

Brady was/is unpredictable when he didn't try to force it to security blankets all game long.

I like it when Develin is catching a pass. I don't see it coming and I don't think the opposing defense does as well.

I don't think the RB postion needs "fixing". If Ridley can learn to hold on to the ball we will be good. Probably better than good. Our RB group would be one of the best in the league if all were healthy/free from fumblitis

Amendola is virtually just a decoy at this point. I think he's playing at around 65% with that groin/hip thing.

They missed Dobson's deep threat yesterday. You can't be using Edelman as your deep guy.

Gronk takes a pounding. They need to figure out a way to keep this guy healthy for the playoffs. I agree that they need to get another good TE.

Oh....if only Vereen could catch the dang ball! He dropped another pretty easy catch, this time for what would have been a touchdown. Cant blame this one on his wrist contraption either. He just didn't get his hands together in time.

If they can work out Ridley’s fumbling issues they have as good a running back core as any team in the NFL that doesn’t have Adrian Peterson.

Ridley
Vereen
Bolden
Blount (free agent)
Cierre Woods (practice squad)

Amendola’s production averages this season is nearly identical per game to his production averages in his previous 4 seasons per game. I think what you see is what you get with Amendola, maybe some moderate improvements as he adjusts to the team and his groin becomes healthier but there was a reason that Amendola was our third receiver on the field yesterday.

I agree in terms of Dobson - actually prior to his foot injury I though Dobson was exceeding expectations. Boyce has been a disappointment in my opinion.

Don’t sleep on DJ Williams as a long term project at the flex tight end position, he has the tools.

Either way I am not sure you need to use a high draft pick on a tight end, we were spoiled by the two tight end thing but seriously just have Gronkowski gives us the best tight end group in the NFL, don’t get me wrong I would love to see us add a very good one but if we resign Edelman, Amendola comes back in 2014 and Dobson, Thompkins and Boyce make a second year leap we will be just fine in a 3 wide, 1 back, 1 tight end formation.

D.J. Williams didn't see the field much and he wasn't targeted but I noticed at least three occasions where he was wide open yesterday. Hopefully that will bode well in the future.

I was just thinking today about how Manning will probably break the TD record. Then I figured that if Gronk plays an entire season, that Brady will probably take the record right back next year.

I know, rings are all that matters and who cares about stats BLAH BLAH BLAH

Can we not use the term "targets" when we refer to a Patriots player?

Amendola is virtually just a decoy at this point. I think he's playing at around 65% with that groin/hip thing.

Yesterday was the 13th week since Amendola suffered the groin injury, the recovery time was 2-6 weeks per reports at the time of the injury, if he is 65% healthy I would be shocked.

He is not a decoy; 3rd wide receiver because Edelman has out played him. When 100% we play Dobson at the X-WR and Edelman at the Z-WR and either RB, FB, TE or a RB and 2 TEs, then when we go to a 3 wide out formation Edelman slides out to the Y-WR and Amendola comes in and plays the Z-WR. Amendola is basically playing the role that Edelman played last season when Wes Welker was here.

I agree that Edelman is our best receiver at the moment. For this year, he has taken Welker's role.

Thompkins/Dobson is our #2 and Amendola is our #3. One can argue that we are better off than with Welker, Lloyd and Branch. Also, now that Gronk is healthy, we are about as good as almost any game last year at TE.

Unless Amendola is worse than Branch last year, I don't see the point of dissing his play. Gronkowksi/Amendola/Edelman are playing about as well as Gronkowski/Welker/Branch as we hoped for in the beginning of the season.

We have Dobson and Hooman out, Amendola playing injured and Thompkins now injured. The offense will get better if there is some improvement in the health of the players.

depends on which injury was being reported. A completely torn from the bone groin is not going to heal in 2-6 weeks. the only reason we is able to play is because he cant do any more damage to it, its just a pain tolerance thing. that pain tolerance can and in some cases WILL cause a player to play at less then 100%
