Dr. Thomas Gill confronts columnist in locker room

According to WEEI's Lou Merloni Patriot team doctor Thomas Gill confronted WEEI columnist Mike Petraglia over a story he had written regarding Rob Gronkowski. The confrontation happened in the Patriot locker room and had Gill jabbing Petraglia in the chest with his finger. Sounds like the good (??) doctor is becoming unglued over his handy work being questioned.
Jeez, I can't understand why the Sox cut him loose. Talk about professional conduct.

Poor professional conduct to poke with your finger and have the conversation in public but lets not assume that Gil was the only one with poor professional conduct he was very likely confronting a crappy journalist over shoddy reporting.

I for one would love to see Gil sue someone in the media over what is very likely non-factual writing. Whatever your opinions are of Gils skills I am sure he did everything by the book regarding Gronks care and there has been a lot of questioning of Gil in the media and I think he has every right to be mad at them and while they all likely know how to phrase things to avoid law suits I hope one of them screwed up and gets the pants sued off them as it might make the sports reporting around here more accountable.

I'm going to speculate that the story was one sided. The media in this town sucks. They aren't for the teams. Each is auditioning for their next big gig. I'm not saying the media is unprofessional -- they are all professional rectums. Turn off the radio and don't buy the paper.

I don't blame Gill. The Petraglia was a blatant hit job, nothing else. Factually it was correct but the insinuation were crap. Infections happen - ask Brady and his world class surgeon.

Considering your history of brain dead posting....it's not hard to believe you have zero comprehension as to why people might take exception to stupid things posted and published.

The media isn't questioning the infection, they're questioning the decision to have surgery vs letting it heal itself. Ask the Gronks how they feel about that decision. Oh, and the decision to clear him to play only to have him rebreak it again on the first play (yeah yeah, I know it was in a "different area" of the wrist. whatever). Then there is the Fenenae/NFLPA situation and his Red Sox tenure.

What do you expect the media to do? Do you think their job to gush about how great everything is all the time?

It was awful and beneath even Felger.

The media isn't questioning the infection, they're questioning the decision to have surgery vs letting it heal itself. Ask the Gronks how they feel about that decision.

First, that would clearly have been a mutual decision. Second, almost anyone would have had that done. It wasn't some crazy, risky decision at the time.

That's why the hit piece was crap. The decisions that were made were normal, typical decisions. And there was a ton of bad luck that followed.

A mutual decision between a Doctor and a football player. Of course Gronk wanted to play but he clearly came back too early, IMO based upon the advice of the team Dr. That's kind of like saying if Amendola went back on the field yesterday it was a mutual decision and not on the Team Dr.

If he was ready to play, why did he play the whole week prior to that carrying his injured arm by his side?

Thats the point. They arent Doctors but they are questioning the treatment. I want another Doctor like andrews to say this. Iam not a doctor just like the media but they have mikes and papers to write so they can write it to the world.

You can't just change your argument like that. You questioned Gronk having surgery vs. letting it heal itself which would have put him out for the year. He chose surgery like almost any other football player would.

Did he come back too soon ? Probably not but that's a totally different question.
