I think its an 80%-90% chance this week that Gronk finally returns to go up against the Saints who have as powerful an offense as the Broncos right now.

What are you expecting from Gronk in his first game back after nearly 3/4 of the year away from the game?

8-10 rec 120+ yards 2 TD

its a home game no trip to make.

Based on the last few weeks I have no expectation on when his return will be but when he does come back I expect and hope that all the waiting means he will be %100 and I expect some big contributions fairly quickly. I do also suspect that the team will ease him in with limited reps for at least one week if not 2. I expect red zone work, key third downs, and a few other reps here and there.

So I expect for the first two weeks that he gets some TDs but his overall numbers might be slightly down but hopefully once the reigns fully come off he is right back to his old self.

As a Saints fan I hope he doesn't play of course. But if he does, I think he'll catch 5-6 balls for 60 yards or so and a TD. We held TG to 3 catches for 36 yards and a TD in week 1. I'm assuming Rob Ryan will put Vaccarro on him like he did against TG. Vaccarro and Jimmy Graham had some really nice battles in training camp and Vaccarro has translated that into the regular season. One thing about the Saints defense this year compared to years past is how we actually swarm to the ball and limit YAC. We're a pretty good tackling team this year too. I hope we keep it up.

In any event, it will be cool to see the best two TEs in the league on Sunday on the same field. Is it definite that he plays? I know BB is tight lipped about that just like Sean Payton.

I predict that he'll mainly be employed as a red zone weapon, and that he'll have 1 td.. However, I don't expect him to become the Gronk of old once again until he plays 3-4 games. I think the rookies will still get a number of looks, and that Amendola will see a bit more snaps.

True about the home game but more of will he be seriously active in practice like he is 100% ready to go

We'll probably have to convert a couple of 3rd downs to get to RZ. Currently not a strong suit for this Team.:snob:

On what do you base your 80--90% assessment?
Not disagreeing, just curious.
Thanks.

Who knows, maybe a fluky/desperate throw/catch here and there might get us there? >_>

BTW, any status updates on Ridley''s availability next game?

some redzone work....that's about it

We need him for 3rd downs and red zone area. He will help Tom out and get amendola, Dobson and thompkins better matchups to exploit.

Adam Schefter has been reporting that he expects Gronk to suit up this weekend against the high powered Saints,a few other sources claim it as well.

I think Schefter is one of the most reliable media persons out there...I think he probably knows more than we do...it could just be a hunch though,we will find out soon enough.

Jay Glazer has Schefter beat by a week on this one. He went on FOX's pregame last Sunday said Gronk was targeting Week 6.

I'm not expecting to see GRONK until later on in the season after the bye or around there. Right now I'm expecting him to be about 75-80%, but that is still way, way better than the bums they've been trotting out so far this season.

I'd expect him to be nearly the old Gronk as a receiver, but not quite yet as a blocker.

The way this season is going, an injury.

How can it be the first game back when the trip is not made?

Gronk will be big in the redzone this week, I dont think he will play to much out of the redzone. can't wait to see him play againg thought I'm missing his spikes in the endzone.

He does not get reinjured that fast just give him 10 to 12 weeks then we will worrie about him getting injured again.
