Can someone please explain to me how that hit never drew a flag ?!!! So much inconsistency with the Refs where some games u see a flag for less than that. There were 2 reasons for the flag, 1. He WAS held. 2. How is that not spearing and a hit to the helmet ? God i said a prayer after i saw the hit , and did you see how Thompkins sat by his side while they were looking at Dobson on the ground. Love the guy and what a game he had. Bravo Thompkins. Bravo to all on the Team. I am afraid my young 15 year old son has named Sudfeld " Suckfeld " because every time he touches the ball something bad happens !! lol.
All in all a great win only thing that hurt us was big Vince going down, how we replace him God only knows. Best wishes. From Bahrain with love. Abdul.

Referees did a horrible job last night. They botched the spot of that first down, even after review. The replay system failed. They let Dobson take a shot to the head but they called a much more minor hit on Thompkins. It was reminiscent of the replacement refs last night.

The Thompkins call was clearly a makeup call for the Dobson error.

Coleman & his crew were utterly rancid for both teams last night but the real howlers all cost the Patriots a lot more - the Talib PI which should have been offsetting penalties because White was just as guilty if not more so, the 3rd down spot and the replay system "breaking" only to be functioning again 2 minutes later!

Has anyone ever witnessed a game where the " replay system was down " ? hmmmm
At a crucial point of the game may i add !! Also after the game, everyone ,,even hater Faulk said that was a first down ,,by a good half yard !! They nearly cost us the game.

Dobson wasn't a head shot, it only became so because he was going to the ground. What should have been called was the hold as the ref had the perfect view of Aaron's jersey stretching behind him when he tried to go down for the ball.

What a dump

I hate the south....worst officiating

The spot was actually right. The ref's foot was right on the hash where the ball touched ground.

The spot wasn't the problem.

It was the other idiot referee with the ball in his hand setting the ball down 6 inches back from the foot of the spot.

Any new word on how he's doing?

It reminded me of a play a couple years ago when the tip of the ball actually went past the chain measurement, but the refs literally tilted the sticks so the ball would appear to be an inch short.

Even after that, I told my wife, "Don't worry. It's Matt Ryan and Mike Smith. They'll find a way to lose it."

That mugging was directly in front of the official, should have clearly been first and goal at the one. What the eff was that offical looking at ? No wonder why Brady went ballistic. The mugging also inadvertently caused Dobson taking that shot, because the blatant hold by the Atlanta DB delayed Dobson going down for the throw and it actually held him up long enough to allow that blow to the head/shoulder.

Yeah, it was a strangely officiated game. One B2B plays, they called the Patriots DB for DPI because he had the poor taste to hold on to the receiver's arms when the WR was shoving him away. The only logical call there was offensive pass interference.

And then, on the very next play, Mayo almost literally rides Gonzalez 15 yards into the end zone, rodeo style. No flag.

I did like that they let the guys play for the most part.

The only thing you left out is that he was also a defenseless receiver. That also warranted a flag.

And then the constant replays! I was getting physically ill re-watching them. Loved the Thompkins/ Dobson besties story though. And I loved Brady going ballistic for his guy and not at his guy.

There were a lot of good things happening offensively though.

Imagine if the "Replay system is down" statement happened in Gillette?

this game was really really horribly officiated. there were so many calls where you had to think someone was trying to force the falcons into the win.

Replay not working, non calls on endzone interference, placing the ball 2 yards from where the runner was down, etc.

The way he was bent I thought it was a collar bone.

I know everyone feels Vince is more important to this team and rightly so, but I'm genuinely concerned about Dobson. Achilles is an achilles. But I don't like how Dobson's neck snapped. I held my breath. Wish we would just hear something that he's ok.

Brady threw it to him 100% expecting a flag. Immediately after the ball left his hand, he was pointing to the ref at the back of the end zone. I think he had Bolden open in the strong side flat.

We probably won't have an idea how he's doing until Wednesday's injury report is released. I'm guessing he's going to be limited all week then listed as Questionable for Sunday's game.
