49ers hire Eric Mangini as consultant

I was shocked by your post, so I will own up to overstating it a little. However, I do recall a lot of surprise of him becoming a head coach at the time because he had lost his playcalling duties. That is not the sign of someone becoming a successor to anything.

Excuse the hyperbole on my part, but the overall point is valid- Mangini was very, very far off from being BB's successor.

LOL - Rob. He was not surprised that he became a head coach. He didn't want him to become a head coach for a couple of reasons at the time.

Mangini told him that the Jets interviewed him to be their next HC.

BB told him that he wanted him to stay so that he could be groomed as his successor considering that Crennel and Weis had already left with their shot at being head coaches.

You have to remember that BB and Mangini go way back to Wesleyan. BB was Mangini's mentor and he wanted Mangini to take over. In fact, had Mangini been patient - I would bet my bottom dollar that Mangini would have been HC of the Patriots following the 2009-2010 season.

No dude - you're the dope.

Do you know who Mangini's quarterback coach was when he was with the Jets and with Cleveland?

I'll give you a hint - he works for Belichick now and I highly doubt that BB would hire anyone that worked for Mangini if your ridiculous premise was, you know, accurate and true.

You have no clue as to what you are talking about. Dope.
What the hell does Brian D. have to do with with "my ridiculous premise", whatever that is? Plus, honestly, I have a hard time taking any adult (I assume you are one, perhaps foolishly) who refers to anyone in writing as "dude." Grow the eff up.

And that ends that.

Good to see that you still don't know what you are talking about. You must be one of those post-2004 homers. :rocker:

Literally, laughing out loud. I know I've posted this before, but my Dad took me to the first Pats game ever against Denver in 1960. Good guess, "dude."

Oh - I see. So you are just one of those Social Security guys that sat in the nosebleed sections for decades and thought that they knew it all because you were there during the days of Ron Erhardt. This must be why you must feel that you are entitled to being right when in fact you are wrong and have probably been wrong since the 1960s'.

No, actually, you don't "see" at all. And if you knew anything about the team's history, you'd know that there were no "nosebleed seats" at BU, Fenway Park, Harvard Stadium or Schaeffer/Sullivan Stadium. The more you post, the more ignorant and moronic you appear. You should just give it up. But, dopes like you don't.

The only moron between the two of us is clearly you. You can take that one to the bank.

Cranky? Not me. I'm just daffodils, unicorns and sunshine.

Don't worry Jackson. Being cranky comes with your age and condition of just being wrong most of the time.

I am sure that there will be other times when you are wrong and someone else will point it out to you where you call someone a moron again.

There's something about the name Mangini that brings out so much happiness in PatsNation.

Any particular reason why you're obsessed with my age (which you don't know, by the way)? Your last hundred posts (slight exaggeration) make reference to it. It's a semi-clever technique called deflection, in which one changes the subject to deflect attention away from the fact that you're getting your ass kicked. Oh, and finally, I would always consider being called a "moron" far less offensive than being called "dude."

Ausbacker - it is called homeristic stupidity which has been shown in clear effect by Jackson especially when he clearly doesn't know what the **** he is talking about and doesn't know how to let go which is once again indicated by another post that I am not even going to bother to respond to.

As far as I am concerned, people like Jackson need to realize that Mangini is not here by choice and he chose not to be here despite BB's wishes to stay in New England.

He probably saw Jackson at one game and decided it might be time to leave.

Holy s***! I really did get under your skin. My night is complete!
