Not just because the Pats have these four picks today, either, although that sure helps from my perspective.

It seems like the much more intriguing part of this draft is the second round, and it has seemed that way for awhile. The first round carried very little drama and mostly a bunch of beefy offensive linemen going off the board. Round 2 should have all of the skill players, who, let's face it, are more exciting to speculate about.

It almost seemed like teams were making their round 1 picks in resignation that they needed to pick someone and those picks were pretty obvious. I get the sense that most of the scouting was done in the mid-rounds here.

It's almost like Round 2 is what Round 1 was supposed to be. You still have 3-4 potential franchise quarterbacks and a lot of teams with interest. You haven't even seen the first RB go off the board yet. There are tons of playmakers ready to be plucked.

I'm looking forward to this...

I'm with you Ice. We have reason to be excited for the 2nd round lately (Gronk, Hernandez, Vereen), but I'm particularly excited for tonight because I'm convinced we'll draft an impact WR tonight (either in Rd 2 or 3). I dare say we may even get out of tonight with two WRs (much like when BB drafted 2 TE's in the same year and later 2 RBs in the same year). Let's see -- but either way I can't wait!

Chances are the Pats will take a CB and a WR in the 2nd round. we know how that's worked out in the past. That tempers my enthusiasm.

I am more excited because I know the Patriots will finally draft somebody.

Yep the switch has been flipped and I'm pumped up for the second round. Lots of intrigue in the second and third rounds because there are plenty of potential starters on show.

Seeing how we haven't drafted anybody yet I don't see how you can't be

Please join other Patriot fans in the Chat Room when the draft starts again at 6:30 PM EST!!

I am sure we will see them draft a few guys tonight but DO NOT rule out Bill trading at least one into 2014 ....he has done it before
