Leon Washington Visiting Pats Today

Leon was by far my favorite Jet, when he played there. Every time he touched the ball, he scared me. So I'd love to have him here....except.... what does he really bring other than as a return man. Is he better than Vareen or Woodhead as a receiver/3rd down RB. I don't think so. What we need at RB is a bigger back. The kind of guy who can pick up those 3rd an 2's that that we now feel the need to pass the ball on. Someone like Peyton Hillis or the like.

I think there is room on this team for a player who does little else but return kicks.

Does this say anything about Demps? Is he gone?

I don't know if he'll be gone, but I think the team is preparing for it. We've taken looks at 2 almost pure-return men. Has to say something about the teams opinion of his choice to continue pursuing track.

Demps is gone - he's focusing on track again (and the olympics)

I don't get it why Demps is so adamant about doing track. Guys would kill for the shot to get a roster spot and earn that kind of cash. Does track pay anywhere close to that if you aren't a superstar?

I think it says more about the pats possibly moving on from woodhead to vereen. A KR guy like Washington would be a better fit

He might just not want to really play football, I'd rather know his heart is in another sport then let him run us around every year thinking "this time he'll play!"

One of the best kick returners in the league. Would love to have him. But sad this probably means the end for Woodhead.

I see things as due diligence.....maybe woodhead comes back, but you still get out there and do your homework

We'll I bet I can guess who might be there if the Pats don't re-sign Woodhead and he ends up in the buyers market period of free agency

"Hey John, how about this guy Danny Woodhead? I was about 100 feet away and on 3rd and 15 or something he turned a little 2 yard dump off give up pass into a 25 yard gain to get the first down. Really could have used someone like that against Baltimore."

I just remember the SOB shredding our interior defense, like a little kid running circles around his grandparents.

People worrying about him replacing some guy we've never seen in the regular season yet, crack me up. BB will bring anyone to camp he thinks might improve the team.

He wants to do both track and the Patriots. Whether that works out for him is yet to be seen, but he might want to consider going 100-percent football with guys like Washington sniffing around for the job.

I'd welcome this assuming he comes cheap.

I'm sorry, maybe Demps should just can his Olympic dreams for whatever pleases you.

There is room for both Leon and Demps.

Ridley, Vareen, and Bolden are you core 3. There is room for 5 if they want.

Also I doubt Leon gets a deal you can't cut in camp if everything in Demps is as advertised.

no need to spend big at RB but I would be Ok with a 6th back too for Bolden to compete with. only keeping 5 max and likely 4.

Washington is a year or so older than Cribbs but has a slightly better kr average over past 3 seasons. BB probably looking at Plan A and Plan B options as well as price.

For some reason....many people think...anyone we bring in...we sign
