Patriots Rookie Report Card

The 2012 NFL season has come to an end for the New England Patriots, which opens the door to reflect on the team's rookie draft class. The Pats selected seven rookies last April, and now with a full year under their belts, we have a better idea of what th...

I've always wondered: what other NFL team was about to draft Tavon Wilson at so high a position. He would have received a better grade had he been drafted much further down. I agree that Dennard should get an A given that he was drafted in the last round and played like a second rounder.

Ebner is a solid special teamer. I would rate his pick at least a B- for a 6th rounder.

If i remember me, correctly, Dennard was projected in the second round.
His performance was not the factor, his off-field issue was the problem(incident, with the possibility for going to jail).

Yeah, giving a 6th round pick a D- just because he played very sparingly on defense and was a solid special teamer is a little weird. I think if any 6th or 7th rounder is activated for 15 games like Ebner was, that automatically gives him a C/C- range grade no matter how much they contribute. Most 6th and 7th rounders flame out of the NFL.

I feel this ratings are pretty spot on, though I think Ebner deserves a little higher grade, good special teams player.
