With that being said,I doubt anything here is going to affect anything within the team.

Probably the worst coaching move of BB to bench WW for that playoff game against the jests

That was a case of tweaking an opponent before a game.

I don't think any deal can be made until after this season.

They can't talk extension?

Even if they can't do it officially,they need to sit and discuss plans into 2013 anyway,this guy is the heart of the receiving corps,he was before these great TEs arrived and he still is.

If anything he contradicted himself by saying this. First 2 weeks he said it was nothing specific to phase him out and its just part of game plan and there are other people catching the ball. Maybe he said it in jest but totally unnecessary distraction showing up the coach like this especially when you know the boston media loves to tear this team and coach down when they can. Just my opinion.

If Belichick cares more about a minor comment on a short video than sending your best out to win games then he needs to separate matters off the field with on the field first.......I don't think Belichick will do anything but maybe even snicker over it.

Dont think he will but only lends credence to the stupid theory that welker was in the doghouse because he didnt agree to a contract. The local media is going to write all kind of nonsense about this again esp now since we have moved past that.

When I watched it, I thought that Welker might be referring to Belichicks known propensity to focus on the negative things.

That said.. I don't trust the media. They operate at the lowest common sensationalist denominator.

I would say I never hope for injury to any player,especially on this team but the loss of Edelman was actually a gain the past few weeks.

They CAN talk extension. However, it can only be signed on the day after the last REGULAR season game. Peviously, I believe that teams had to wait until the end of the Play-offs to sign players previously under the Franchise tag to an extension.

This is according to the CBA, Article 10, Section 2 (k).

I still think its bugging Wes not to have a contract,I believe his heart is REALLY with the Patriots and does not want to leave here but might if he seeks a contract the team will not commit to a true slot receiver.

O.k.,that's cool....now they need get it done by late January and prove the media wrong that Welker is a goner for sure as they all say.

Well you never know when BB will "lose that lockerroom", because as of right now, the Patriots HATE their coach, right?

After giving it some thought, you are probably right. It won't effect them although we still will have to hear it from the media. I think that's what I am annoyed about, that I will have to continue hearing this crap.

I don't see anything coming from this either. Coach Belichick is known for a wicked good sense of humour, and since none of us really knows what's going on between Welker and the team, if ANYTHING is going on between them, I'm inclined to see this as a bit of levity that cracked the stoic facade we always see from this team.

I still think it's funny, and I don't see anything coming from this at all.
