RUMOR: via Twitter... Matt Forte to Patriots talk...

Forte would probably be the ideal RB for this Patriots offense and would step right in and immediately make it a juggernaut. He'd also cost draft picks and $ so I can understand not wanting him. Frankly, it isn't the draft picks that bother me but rather the $. Then again, cap $ is only a waste if you don't get on field production from those cap $ and I can't imagine Forte wouldn't give you awesome on field production.

I also understand those wanting to give Ridley and Vareen a chance to shine. You save the draft picks and cap $ obviously but, they are unproven commodities. Would be a shame to waste yet another season of Brady's career if neither pans out.

Now this is an "excellent evaluation".

I'm surprised incarcerated Bob can get so many Worked up over here. Forte is looking for something compareable to cp ap money. No way the pats do that. No way.

Being a Twitter-holic, trust me when I say Incarcerated Bob is legit. He is regularly very accurate. But, the haters will hate.

Mind you, that does not mean a trade is imminent. Bob said they are in talks. Talks break down. Other teams jump in & offer more. U know the drill.

Forte would be a sweet addition to this team. He is 26, in his prime. This team needs to run more. Forte, Ridley & Vereen would definitely help here. I am not saying take the ball from 12s hands; I envision an O that smothers teams. Quick strikes in the pass game. Dominating drives with a combo of run & pass.

With the $$ being freed up, I definitely think BB is up to something. Is it Forte? time will tell.

Re: RUMOR: Twitter burning up with Matt Forte to Patriots talk..

Hey man guess what when you say per usual its like we've had this convo before. We haven't, its sad that you think you have because so many people on this board cant stand you.

I find you truly annoying and ignorant and your opinions meaningless and empty. If you'd also care to enlighten please show me where rumors may go. Is there a special section? Am i not able to post a rumor in the most literal sense? And by all means who would you like me to link to on twitter? All you have to do is search Patriots and forte and twitter does the rest.

Please keep you condescending award comments to yourself. You have 25,000 posts of meaningless garbage.

I will gladly take your Darwin insult award as you yourself will never accomplish anything.

Seanbruschi - You, sir, are a complete liar. We've had numerous conversations where you have posted garbage and been called on it. And mot just by myself, but by others.

Now, instead of over-reacting and making BS claims that "twitter is burning up" with some rumor.. just say "RUMOR" Matt Forte to the Patriots. Is that really too much to ask. As I pointed out you, none of the big names are talking about this. You provided nothing. No links. Nothing. Saying that I should go do a search for Forte and Patriots on Twitter means that I'll get a bunch of nobodies who mean nothing and have no real substance. I would think that someone who claims to be intelligent would understand that.

BTW, I don't have 25,000 posts and only trolls who know they have no ground to stand on actually use post count as an insult.

It's already been proven that Incarcerated Bob is not legit and that he's accurate less than 30% of the time.

Incarcerated Bob is in jail after being convicted of 18 counts of Twitter fraud.

I haven't gone through the nearly 200 comments in this thread so apologies if this has already been brought up, but considering how badly Bleacher Report and Pro Football Focus get skewered here, I am surprised that Incarcerated Bob does not receive a similar scrutiny.

Is @incarceratedbob a complete fraud?

On actual “breaking reports” tweets, with specific information, Bob “broke” (or Tweeted before anyone else) the story little better than 2% of the time. A quick search of Twitter timelines shows that Bob simply copied the Tweets of some of his followers, nearly word for word, from a few minutes earlier. Some of those followers had knowingly sent Bob the information, some appeared to be blatantly plagiarized. Either way, Bob’s claim that he’s first is at best dubious as there is ample evidence to support he isn’t, and at worst outright fabrication (like many other things about him, as we shall see).

On accuracy of “reporting,” Bob fared much better. He scored a 29% accuracy rating with how often his “reports” turned out ultimately to be correct. I don’t know what kind of education most of you have, but the schools I went to taught me that 29% accuracy, was a miserable failure. An “F” as my first grade teacher Ms. Johnston called it. I’m not sure your political bent, dear reader, but if it were provable that either FOX or MSNBC reported the news with 29% accuracy, both would be out of business, and the punchline of many a joke.

What @incarceratedbob is, is a master self promoter.

Are you suggesting we run the wishbone?

Inc Bob nailed Mario to the Bills and Manning to the Broncos way before they were officially announced.

I know hes been full of ***** in the past, but he nailed 2 blockbuster deals this year.

Proven? I follow him daily. Very accurate.

So, some of you think that BB would give up an 2nd AND a 4th for Forte IN ADDITION to giving him OBSCENE money. What did some of you have for breakfast this morning? Crystal Meth?

btw, it's Incarcerated Boob.

BB gave up a 2 for a 30 year old, troubled Corey Dillon.

I'm not saying it will definitely happen, but Forte is elite.

I could have "nailed" those two blockbuster deals too. It's called a good, educated guess. Williams was in Buffalo for um...what, a week? Manning was getting fellatio from Elway....I mean, c'mon.

....and Dillon was making what kind of money?

No it isn't. Firstly, what does a RB traded for nearly a decade ago have to do with today's very different offense? And secondly this "average running back" cliche constantly trotted out is meaningless. How many second and third string RB's contribute to that statistic? And as for giving up on the picks last year, please! If BB trades for Forte then he's obviously decided that Ridley, Vereen do not represent the future for the franchise as a lead back. In that hypothetical case, then so be it. You don't sit on players just because we drafted them previously. SF drafted Kaepernick last year, if they had the number one pick this year, should they not draft Luck or RGIII because they used a second on a QB last year?

I'm hoping Ridley/Vereen will be a real boost for the offense - I was high on them last year but let's not dismiss out of hand the very real boost Matt Forte gives this offense in the case of a hypothetical trade.

Ahhhh, yeah it is.

You seem to have a problem discerning the question.

BB should always get the difference maker.

Matt Forte is not that difference maker. Matt Forte is the guy that had very pedestrian years 2/3 then racked it up in his contract year because......the Bears had zero other offensive weapons.

There is nothing to dismiss.

I suspect there's a 71-98% chance of this not happening.

I don't see the cost of the trade as being all that prohibitive. You are talking about one of four top two round pics and a fourth rounder which doesn't have that great a value. The potential contract on the other hand is a biggie. Arian Foster got five years 43m. Is that worth it for a low value position like RB or OG or ILB. Oh but wait! Who has the 2nd and 3rd biggest contracts on the team? Logan Mankins and Jerod Mayo, both with bigger contracts than Forte would likely get.

More seriously, the problem I foresee is that we need to re-sign Hernandez and Gronk in two years. I would rather the money was spent there if it was an either/or but I don't see 20m guaranteed being all that wasteful on giving our offense yet another elite level dimension. Brady's shortening window needs reinforcing.

Where do u get wishbone? I was discussing quality depth.

Three similar players? Let's get one powers runner to go with out two open field runners before we worry about duplicates.

3 deep with young running backs who are open field runners on a passing team. Not sure i understand that.
