Why did LT give an attitude? (Calls out BB : Merged)

LOL, what a joke. This isn't about the Pats at all, this about certain Pats fans who feel good about themselves by being no-fun pansies and loving it. Congrats on being one of them. Just so happens thats not what the Pats are like, they're athletes. They talk trash, they taunt, they even give cheap shots sometimes. Oh my gosh! Oh no!

I agree with you.

There are a TON of people who will take LTs side on this whole issue b/c they try to act overly PC and respectable.

It's a joke.. quit acting like you are so damn classy. Everybody can tell when it is too much. take it down a notch and actually say what you feel sometimes.. the internet police aren't going to arrest you.

Merriman ... what a joke! I guess Shawne was disappointed the Chargers did not play the NY Jets in the 2006 AFC Divisional Playoffs.

LT was pissed at Hobbs for pulling a "TO on the Dallas star". I think most players with as much pride as LT would probably react the same way. Get it? Would have been even more entertaining had he been able to reach Hobbs, though:rolleyes:

Great game tonight guys. You showed why you have 3 rings.

With all the **** Merriman talked this weej, it would have been nice for him to show up. I still stand by my first post, that Merriman is not a complete player and it showed in his attempted pass coverage today.

In the end, we were the team that made the dumb mistakes and in the playoffs, you simply cannot do it. While I think we are the more talented team, we certainly are not a Championship team yet, and the Patriots are. So good luck the rest of the way. I will look forward to a hopeful rematch next season.

The Patriots need to hire a "Director of Celebrations", in charge of coordinating a legal celebration move that the Patriots can adapt as their own. Then we can stop copying the moves from other teams when we beat them!

LT made a dumb move saying what he said, but I'm not going to jump on him for it. It was in the heat of the moment right after a tough loss, thanks to Dr. Choken-heimer; he just wishes he played for Belichick. Besides, the guy is an absolute beast. Thank god we got past him.

Onto Peyton "Happy Feet" Manning!

I can't believe we're even discussing this. This is sour grapes from the losing team! Can't we just enjoy the win?

LOL, well put.

The true measure of a "team's class" - and again, I think class is more or less a buzz word - is not when he wins, but when he loses.

The Pats passed that last season against Denver - they didn't utter one word of stupidity that we're seeing from the Chargers. They accepted the loss and moved on, like adults. LT is not yet an adult. Neither is Rivers.

One emotional comment by an opposing player after a devastating loss and this entire board goes up in flames... it is funny how defensive some of you people get.

Like LT gives a crap what some idiot Pats fans think about him. LT has more credibility among fans and players in the league than anyone on the Patriots. That is Fact. Most people outisde of Patsland will agree with his assessment.

And he has a point. The Patriots like to give the "appearance" of class and respect and fair play but under Belichick they have always adopted an attitude of win-at-all-costs, slit-your-enemy's-throat-then-dance-on-their-corpses. That is why they have been so successful. So just embrace the fact that your team is classless and winners nonetheless.

That is, until next week when you get smoked by the Colts. Ha.

Oh shut up LT. It was a freaking dance. Hobbs has a reason to ******* celebrate, he played a good game.

Merriman is a stupid cheating idiot who cant get his head out of his ass. He deserves to be taunted. Boo hoo.

And I think LT is classless for throwing BB into a situation where he had NOTHING to do with it.

The same Red Sox who had DLowe give the A's the "suck it" sign & the choking sign? The same Red Sox who had Pedro toss an old man to the ground and taunt Posada [that little bytch deserved it]?

WOW. Nothing like talking out your rear end there.

1) No idea what you are talking about regarding DLowe. Can you be more specific
2) Pedro was the one attacked by Don Zimmer.

This is sports, emotions run high, players will taunt. Deal with it. If you can't, then you, sir, just like LT, are "San Diego", a "Whale's Vagina".

I can deal with taunting just fine. However, there is a time and place for it. Making the CHOKE sign in front of their bench is a classless move no matter how you cut it. Your defending it shows that you are just as classless as Merriman and Hobbs.

Oh, and if you don't like it, I don't care. It shows you really haven't played a team sport..

Hmm, I wonder why no one cried about how classless this Charger team was when one of their players said "**** New England and their fans" after they beat us here last year.

I really don't give a damn what people think, and I'm sure the players don't either. We all need to get over it.

Listen MerrimanManny this is about all of us (excluding you) following unwritten rules in sports - don't rub it in the face of the opponent that you just beat. You would have been OK with any of the chargers running to centerfield and mocking the Pats players with their theatrics? That's right, we don't do any - and that is for a reason. How do you know what the Pats are like? Sure they are athletes but they go about their business in a gracious way, look at all of the examples that you threw out in an earlier post - 5 or 6 examples in what, 6 years under BB. They are expected to tow the line and be one of the melting pot, this is not a 'tossed salad' team where everyone brings something else to the table ala the Bengals. This is silly, you have your opinion and I have mine, let's enjoy this win and move onto the Colts. Agreed?

Oh, please.

Class isn't defined by what you do when things are all great and nice. Anyone can be classy when all is going well and you are facing no adversity. Heck, even the likes of TO and such can be classy during such times.

The true litmus test of a mans character and class is to view him when all is not well, when times are trying, and all is not so rosey. Like moments after you lose a football game.

Then, and only then, will you get a true indication of one's character and class.

Uhh, nobody's defensive. We're pissed. A guy called our head coach classless.

I also think you're missing why this story is worth talking about.

The star player on the opposition in a press conference, and in an interview after the press conference, said the following, in essence:

"You disrespected and taunted us by doing the dance that WE do to taunt and disrespect our opponent."

He said it with no irony, and seems to be genuinely pissed off about. That's, well, funny, and worth talking about. Don't participate in the thread if you don't agree.

This is what it comes down to...

All these guys are clownin all season long for every play they make, doing stupid dances and crap every time they get a sack or even an almost sack.

The Pats dance when they've actually won.

If the Chargers came into Foxborough and beat us, they can do whatever dances they damn well please on the middle of the damn field.

To the victors goes the spoils.

Granted, they wouldn't be able to jack one of our players signature dances, b/c we don't have any signature dances, so let me break this down for you, and I'm going to avoid the term class altogether:

A roid-raged jerko** doing some ******ed dance = not cool
Hobbs throwing it back in steroid boys' face after they talked shyt all week and lost = cool

It's sports, it's fun, enjoy it. I know, for you, it must be a horribly guilty pleasure which eats you up inside, but you can just enjoy it and not admit it.

Can you give some specifics on the classless thing?

I'd have to say just the opposite. Tom Brady, Troy Brown, Richard Seymour, Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Daniel Graham? These are some of the most well respected players in the NFL?

I think you're a bit emotional. My suggestion is you turn your computer off and go to bed. The sun will come out tomorow - it always does in So Cal.

Yes, Vrabel flapped his arms like an Eagle, too, didn't he?

Is that classless? Really, answer me, please, because so far, the no-fun types have yet to acknowledge taunting acts by past Pats players as classless.

Listen, Hobbs was a little classless but you know what. LT is a whining, sore loser. Hes such a **** head for throwing Bill into it. Thats also classless. LT says he is very classy. Well LT, that right there...was not.

"IKE REESE, Eagles Linebacker

"When we played the Patriots last year [Eagles running back] Brian Westbrook fumbled a punt, and we were all down there scrambling for it. [Patriots linebacker] Mike Vrabel had my testicles in his hand, and he was squeezing them."

Is that classy?

Or is it just football?
