This could be fun, from KFFL:

Dolphins | Martz to interview for head coaching position Thursday
Tue, 9 Jan 2007 21:45:37 -0800

Harvey Fialkov and Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz will interview for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching position Thursday, Jan. 11, according to a source.

Martz and Culpepper or Harrington, we could see a ten int game!

If they hired Martz I would never stop laughing.

I would much prefer a Mike Tice led Fish. Unless of course they could wrestle Herm from the Chiefs.

I think this is bad news. If Martz can make John Kitna look good against the likes of us, Dallas, etc., why do we want him in our division? He might be arrogant (sticking with passing game in SB 36) but he isn't stupid. He is one coach I think BB respects as a threat.

Martz is a brilliant offensive strategist, but his has not proven himself to be a good head coach. From what I have seen, he ignores things like the OL and time management. Plus, unless he has a very good D coordinator, his defenses aren't all that good.

Basically he is strong with offensive strategy and poor at everything else. I would welcome him into the AFCE fraternity with open arms.

A few years ago @ St. Louis, Martz had his QB fake like he was walking to the sideline for a timeout, but the ball was hiked anyway for a run that was stuffed by the alert Pats D. (BB must have been saying to himself: "So, you want to play by prison rules, huh").
In the second half of game the Pats line up for a routine field goal attempt, only to have the ball quick-snapped to Adam V., who then throws a TD strike to Troy Brown. The shocked Rams never recovered. A classic!

Put my vote in the 'please Lord welcome Mad Mike Martz Miami' column.

:rocker:

Jon Kitna looked good against us?

One can only dream!

Please Wayne..do it!

You know would be great?

They hire Pete Carroll as the HC, bring back Wannstadt as the DC and bring in Martz as the OC!

But I'll take any one of those clowns affiliated with the team in any way!

I will never forget that play - it still stands as one of my favorites... plus I had Adam.V starting in my fantasy league!

I did too! I remember that.

I read on Profootballtalk today that Wayne flew to Newark today for an interview. Couglin? Schiano? They guessed Schiano but I think that is sort of a longshot.

There are still to this day, Ram fans that called that cheap or even cheating.

um, i don't really want mike martz within the division. yeah he won't beat you twice but he has a chance to beat you half of the time. i was much more excited by the thought of pete carroll.

i'd actually like to have martz as an OC.

Martz as an OC = Threat

Martz as a HC = First class comedy every Sunday! Woohooooo....Oh and gift wrapped games.

He may have learned from past mistakes. But, he made some really dumb decisions on Sundays. Put me in the not worried category.

They're interviewing The Jest's Brian Schottenheimer too :

More potential AFCE inbreeding

=============================================================

As a Jet fan this concerns me, I was hopeing that Mini Schott would not get pulled away for at least another year, I think he has been a great OC in his first year the Jets.

He was QB coach in SD, one year as an OC in NY and is only 32, Seems pretty green still to be getting an HC job.
