Sadly, I have to agree on Bruschi. I think he's showing some wear this season.

The answer is no. The players have their heads on straight, unlike many of our fans. I have the utmost respect for the Patriots. But like Lorenzo Neal said... "If you wanna be the best, you gotta beat the best." I consider the Pats the best team of the current decade. But I've seen things from this Chargers team that I haven't seen in my 30 years following them.

My feeling is this: If the Chargers can't win the Superbowl with this team... they never will. They are THAT talented. You can bet they have nothing but the highest regard for the Patriots... which is why they'll be focused, determined, and will play their best game of the year.

So while the fans are c()cky as hell, the players will be taking this game as if they're the underdogs. Because by game time, 90% of all "experts" will be picking the Patriots to win... despite whatever odds the bookies are throwing out there.

There's no way the Chargers think they're under dogs at 14-2. They know they're the favorite. They know what they've accomplished and what they've accomplished produces loads of confidence, and for good reason.

It's simple human nature.

I've posted this before, so I guess another time for folks to ponder and dismiss this note won't hurt me (and no Sooner, your post is just the vehicle for being ignored by many, many more ).

Off-season: projected ILBs Tedy Bruschi and Monty Beisel. One gets to play Stong-Side and one gets to play Weak-Side. SS tends to be lighter, faster for covering TEs and RBs. WS is Ted Johnson's old run stuffer role. So who is faster Bruschi or Beisel?

Bruschi knew going in he was going to be in the WLB run stuffer role, so he bulked up and played this season a little heavier than he has in the past. There may be residual medical issues, but Tedy moves like he is heavier and looks heavier on my TV, also a good reason for appearing to be a step slower.

What people may also be noticing, Tedy appears to be moving a little better as the season draws on and players naturally lose some weight. Tedy may not have been able to take it off quickly to start the season alongside Seau (not and keep his strength), but normal wear and tear has actually worked to his benefit.
