Gruden and Gruden? Is there a double Gruden?

It's a television show that comes on after Gumbel to Gumbel.

Holding onto the ball = Winning Football = Patriots Football

AP pretty much lost the NFC game with his fumbling.

What is not to like about BJGE?? Always hits the hole, minimal dancing, always smiling. extremely low maintainence.. one thing that came out last week is that he is very religious. but does not "Tebow" his faith.. which I like.

At one time tried to research his fumbles at De La Salle in NOLA, but was unsuccessful..

I'll tell you what is not to like about BJGE, nothing. Humble beginnings, gives max effort, keeps his nose to the grindstone, takes care of the ball, does what is asked of him by the coaching staff. He is in a long line of 'Patriot Way' type players. From Brady to Brown to Bruschi to Ben Jarvus, they're the kind of players that make rooting for the Patriots enjoyable as compared to other teams (imagine having to root for DeSean Jackson?). They are one of the reasons why over the years the Patriots have been able to defeat teams with more talent....due to heart, focus, determination versus raw ability. BJGE may not have that explosive hit the hole speed and will never be mistaken for Barry Sanders (who was an exemplary player in his own right), but he is rock solid and a "Patriot".

Nice articulation of my sentiment, there is nothing to dislike about this kid.. but for some reason, the "yeah but" crowd does not like him...

As the Founding Father, President, and Chairman of the Board of The InterNational House of BenJarvus Green is a SLUG, I am delighted to report that I have locked the doors, shuttered the windows, burned the entire edifice to ashes, and plowed salt into the ground.

He always was a reliable runner, albeit one who couldn't make a cut if you handed him a box of Ginsu Knives.

But I don't know if it's a result of having watched our other Power Back ~ Stevan Ready When You Are Ridley ~ navigate the field with unexpected Fluidity and Lateral Agility in the first exhibition games, or what...but Green, in my perception, is LIGHT years beyond the Runner he was, last year.

Green Ellis is a great story. However the most important thing about this guy is how tough he is. Sure, he''s not that fast but when he hits the hole, it is almost always for positive yardage. If he gets through the hole and gets the motor going, he just bulldozes guys down the field. He did it last year to score a TD, he just pushed the DB back into the end zone. I loved that play. He did it again on Monday night, got it going and then pushed an opposing player in front of him as he got yet more yards.

I like underdogs and this guy has certainly been that. For most fans he's not highly rated. For me he is, because everything he's achieved he worked for. Nothing was promised to him, he had no big college pedigree but here he is, the starting running back for a Super Bowl contender. I love it....

I think he was a key the other night. Just running the ball, even though it wasn't for big gains at first, forced the Chiefs to switch up their defense which took a lot of pressure off Brady. Sometimes BJGE doesn't look that effective but his ability to run for even short yardage has to be respected by an opponent. The fact that he can hold onto the ball the way he does is just amazing because trying to separate the ball from a runner is such a big part of today's defenses.

That is one aspect of BJGE that I am sure Belichick does not overlook.

I believe the current touches number was up around 475 (approx.) when Gruden mentioned it, and it is truly remarkable.

He may not be an 'explosive' and fast RB, but when he gets going, he can be extremely effective.

One more player on 'patsfans.com' that somehow managed to break the "he'll never see the field/ he'll NEVER make the team" label...

I think we need one/two more options for a change of pace RB, but it appears that we have that in a nice combo of Woodhead, Faulk, Ridley, and even possibly Vereen.

As long as the O-line continues to improve, and the coaches commit to the running game, I see them at least being effective down the stretch to the point to where they can at least keep the other team's guessing, and hopefully even suck up some clock.

NFL.com and ESPN have BJGE listed at 465 carries. To get more than that, you have to add the 9 carries during the play-offs and his 23 career receptions.. Which would bring him to 497..

It's an impressive record, but Gruden was impressed by a completed pass by Palko last night. He and Gruden are the two biggest ball washers in sports.

Lol, You'll never get cleaner balls than you do with Gruden. Listening to his interviews you'd think every player he talks to is a first-ballot hall of famer. Think he's desperate to coach again and wants to keep his options open.
