How do they compare, as both played defensive end and tightend during their college days and became very effective defensive players, wearing the same number #50.

Vable was probably the better pure pass rusher out of the 2. Nink i would say has the better coverage skills. But thats just my quick opinion of the 2

Brady said in the postgame on sunday that its always nice to see #50 in the endzone.

Vrabel and its not even a fair comparison, different class altogether. Vrabel was routinely called the quarterback of the defense. Ninkovich is routinely called a JAG.

Mike Vrabel hands down.

This.

Vrabel never had so many missed arm tackles. Ninkovich is talented, but runners never got by Vrabel like they do with Nink.

Ninko's only in his 3rd year. It took Vrabel 5 seasons to become a solid player, a couple more on top of that to really become a great player. I'm encouraged by Nink's progression but obviously not Vrabel yet at his best. Who knows what his ceiling is

Vrabel but i gotta say i've been impressed with Ninko this year. Just very solid play all around.

Whatever happened to the Mod in here with the Vrabel avatar?....Pats1 I believe his forum name was?

Perhaps Ninko could win a sprint or hurdles race against Vrabel, and perhaps that matters, but Vrabel by any of many other standards.

Interesting Ninkovich stat:

He caught two touchdown passes at Purdue lined up as a tight end. One was thrown by Kyle Orton, and one thrown by Curtis Painter.

Mike Vrabel hands down.

exactaly

Vrabel was the PURE athlete... Ninko doesn't have that trademark.

is Mikey a OSU alum I think so??? The dude was fantastic in college and his pedigree is MUCH higher than Rob's. I am not demeaning Rob at all... Rob is very good at what he does, but athletically speaking give me the superior talent in Mike Vrabel plz.

i WISH I made Mike Vrabel videos. Now I see him weekly coaching the LB's of Ohio State with a big pinch of dip in his mouth.
