Well that was fine.....until he got his ridiculous contract that wasn't deserved.

A 4 year deal for $22 million can hardly be considered ridiculous for someone who is a #2 corner in the league..

BTW, when did GOD give out Precognition to NFL Coaches? BB clearly missed that day. And well, it's BB's fault for not being able to see that Bodden would suffer that shoulder injury that would keep him out the entire 2010 season.

I like your analogy....which hit home with what my kid went thru this week. I get an email from my son's English teacher saying he had to go to detention and talk with the school counselor because he didn't submit homework...and laughed about it when he was informed of his detention. I find out later that 12 out of 14 students missed the assignment and that the teacher incorrectly listed the assignment on the school website. The kids laughed as each kid walked thru the door completely ignorant of the assignment. Instead of dealing with her own mistake, the teacher punished.

Back to football....who is the DB coach?

The DB coach is Josh Boyer and he's in his first year at the position since the team parted ways with Corwin Brown. BB is the defacto DC and I'm willing to bet has been taking input from Pepper Johnson and Matt Patricia in regards to personnel moves.

However, there was all kinds of love about Mayo, Chung, Gronk (except for injury worries), Spikes, Barwin (Just in case Patsnutme is reading ), etc...

Deus - Not sure where you were, but a majority of the draftniks LOVED getting Chad Jackson in the 2nd round. As mentioned, many thought the Pats had gotten the best WR in the draft. Jackson has all the physical tools, he didn't have the mental ones and couldn't get on the same page as Brady.

He didn't put words in your mouth. He cited examples of known talent in the league.

If he "put words in your mouth" it would be saying something like "You said Michael Vick would make a great Patriots".

Oh also Leigh Bodden was the #3 or #4 top highest paid player on the team. Granted he still is going to get paid that but I do believe it has in-season salary cap implications (we don't get all of the room back but we do get some).

Actually, Salary wise, Bodden had the second highest salary at $3.9 million. He also had the 2nd highest salary cap hit at $5.5 Million. However, all that money is gone unless someone claims him off waivers. They don't free up any money.

This was basically Bodden's history. Bill took a shot he'd get more out of him. Didn't pan out. He also did a bang up job mentoring Butler... They took lots of weekend road trips while attending the off season program and dined out a lot after hitting the weight room early. Really taught him the ropes... Frick and Frack... Probably just as well he spent McCourty's rookie season on IR... Also a good thing that while they resigned him when no one out bid them in FA it was for just a third of Nnamdi's deal...

The public depth charts have very little to do with the actual ones. that includes those on the team run web-sites. The only way to tell is by looking at the game logs to see if they actually got the start.

I think I remember people being pretty high on Butler at the time that he was drafted, as well. Oh well. I don't watch enough college football to form an opinion about most guys, so unless it's a Kevin O'Connell-esque head scratcher, I pretty much go with optimism.
