Practicing today. I thought Bill might wait until full week of practice next week. Was talking up Cannon earlier but no sign he's coming off yet.

Brace is very good news. Hope that Cannon is just a delay of a week or two for medical clearance and because the OL is gonna be healthy enough now with Herr Volmer hopefully healed.

Interesting. I wonder what the plans are for Vereen/Faulk.

Glad Brace is [hopefully] going to contribute this year

Great additions to the roster. Future Patriots HOFer Faulk (I hope) has been an instrumental part of teams' success whenever he's out there, and while Mr Brace has been injured far too much for anyone's liking, he has done well when on the field. Hope they both remain healthy contributors throughout the rest of the season...

Faulk - Makes alot of sense here , its a year since injury and is healthy.
With woodhead banged up and benny with his toe i was a bit worried with the blitz pickup duties. Now faulk gives you another guy to pick up blitz.

Brace- He had his surgery in Jan with a 1 yr time frame for return. So he is on schedule /

I wonder if they might IR Woodhead and go with Faulk in what likely would be his last year as a Patriot. I can't see anyone else being shelved or cut to make way for him on the active roster, if BB wants him to play.

Glad to hear Faulk practicing. I don't see why we need Vereen at this point in the roster. Woody came back last week and he can still help us even with Faulk in the lineup. I see Vereen coming up lame somehow with his hamstring and head to IR.

I hope Brace is fully healthy. There's never such thing as enough depth at DL.

I honestly don't see Cannon playing this year. Coming back healthy from chemo is one thing, but also getting ready to play NFL football after chemo treatment all in a a span of 4 months is pretty daunting.

I've been BRACEing to hear such fantastic FAULKing news!!!

CRAZY talk:bricks:

or sarcasm?

I dont think it wise to redshirt Vereen at this point, especially when he's just now getting on the field. But who knows.

2 Experienced SCAT Backs in the Backfield and Riddley

They can practice for 3 weeks before being activated (?), maybe they're taking the opportunity to see who is fit enough to play and who can be put on IR.

How does a defense stop Welker out wide on one side,Gronkowski and Hernandez lined up with Deion Branch and Faulk out of the backfield all on the field at the same time on 3rd and long.

Can ANY defense really stop these guys from moving the chains if they don't hit Brady within 2 seconds ?

Deaderick is also practicing so that's three off the PUP.

Question: Can any player coming off PUP go on the PS??

His development is secondary to what a player can do performance wise for this team. Faulk can run better, block better, is in psynch with Brady as a receiver out of the backfield, plays on ST...and Bill trusts him. And Woodhead only has a sprained ankle...he isn't going anywhere, plays on multiple ST and will be a full go after the bye. I think you just see less of Ridley or maybe Benny if the toe continues to bother him. Vereen has barely sniffed the field on one ST unit, so he can be inactive pending injuries. All 4 of the PUP players have the potential to lighten the load over the next ten weeks and likely only at the expense of end of the roster/ST only/PS eligible guys. We carried 5 RB's all last season even though Fred never could make a comeback.

If they are otherwise eligible (credited service). Not sure Cannon would make it through waivers. Don't think Brace or Deaderick are eligible. Faulk certainly isn't...

not to mention as a target in the passing game. I feel like this is the least I have seen the Pats use their RBs as receivers in years (in the backfield or split out).

Here is my third down formation Branch and Hernandez split wide with Welker in the slot and Faulk and Woody in the backfield. Good Luck.

The Bye Week came at the right time, no doubt. I am so glad we might be able to reinforce the D Line for the remainder of the season.
