My son turned 5 the end of July and the Giants game Thursday night will
be his first football game.

I have been looking forward to this day since we found out my wife was
Pregnant in 2006.

I did not go to my 1st game until age 13.
My 1st game was against the Bills ni 1975.
The Pats lost & OJ had 185 yards rushing.

Yes.... I am an old Dad !

Congrats and have fun......I took my daughter to Fenway last year (age 5) and she still talks about it. Never think youre an old dad.....you're just a DAD damn it!!!! Enjoy!

Honestly, with the players the Giants are likely to play I think we should be fielding exclusively rookies and fringe players. Let Hoyer/Mallett split the game and give Brady a rest. Let's see what Vereen's got if he's healthy now, and maybe throw in some Medlin and Morris to mix it up.

I want to see what Dowling can do, even against scrubs. Ease him in, no reason to rush him, let him get some confidence (hopefully) against the bubble players.

No reason to play guys like Spikes, Fletcher, or any other dinged up guy in this game. Save them and let them heal up for week one.

Basically, let's get to Miami with at least no more injuries than we have now, and then let 'er rip.

Can Tate or Slater do something big to win a job.

Umm . . . Slater doesn't need to "do something big to win a job." His job is ST coverage, and he's very good at it.

Looking forward to:

-Seeing what role Ellis plays. With Wright back in practice, one of the "locks" isn't a lock if Wilfork, Haynesworth, Warren, Pryor, Love, Ellis, Wright all line up inside.... I think the media has given us a few clues that he's been at DE in practice, but it will be nice to verify. Also, in general, looking forward to seeing Ellis play, period.

-Will we see Wright? Hard to think we will with only one practice, but who knows.

-Seeing what Tate does. I know everyone has him "gone", but a few long KRs and some decent catches....

-Underwood? If you're happy with Welker, Branch, 85, Price, Edelman, Slater, why cut Barnes and Jenkins to sign Underwood? Neither Barnes or Jenkins were ahead of Tate on the depth chart. Underwood coming in has to be to compete with Tate. I don't know how else to see it.

I'm interested in the game ending so we can get on with real football.

I'm interested to see if the pats can stop the giant's interior pass rush. That and how badly manning picks them apart...hopefully not as skillfully as stafford.

anywho, if this is a foreshadowing of games to come then many people here will get their wish and I probably won't post much during the year. I'm a little bit of a fair weather fan and I don't like wasting emotional energy in a losing cause.

Hope to see a score of Giants 56 - Patriots 0.

I want to see a half with Mallett at the controls. I think this guy is the real deal and is a good bet to succeed Brady. It would be great to see him with the first string offense throwing deep to Branch and Ocho. But neither of those WRs will play or only a series or two with Hoyer,

Nothing Mallett does Thursday will add up to a hill of beans. The Giants aren't starting any starters.

I'll be interested to see if Bill has decided to roll the dice with more of his starters for a couple of series as a result.

You are a piece of work. Although kudos for admitting it once again...

If the Patriots (9+ wins a year since 2001, multiple championships, 4 14_ win seasons) aren't a good enough organization to root for then maybe major league american sports aren't for you. The leagues are just too competitive.

I would have suggested Kenyon swimming but they lost for the first time in 32 years this past year. Perhaps Kenyan distance runners, a madden franchise, or just rooting for the northern europeans in strong man competition would do the trick.

Nothing really, it was obvious last week that the Pats don't care about preseason so why should we.

Did your Dad point at the Bills and say something like, "See that big man with the smushed-in nose? That's Fred Smerlas who will one day be a big fat homer for the Patriots. He'll have his head so far up Bill Bellichick's butt on the Big Show you won't be able to see his shoulders. And over there, see #32 son? One day he'll rush for over 2,000 yards in a season and hack his wife and her waiter to death. Isn't this fun?"

Then I will come back during the year when they're 4-5 and rub your face in it.

So you're not just a fair weather fan, you're one of those guys who'd rather be right than see his team win. Good to know.

Aren't you also the guy who said Mayo's career was probably "done" because the Pats rushed him back from injury? How's that working out for you?

Which will only serve as further confirmation that you're one of the very worst posters on this board.

Personally, I'd like to see the team come away with no injuries, and I'd also like to see TFB & 85 in synch for a change, maybe even complete a couple passes.

Oh, and fellows, :trolls:

I'm interested to see Goff and Herzlich play LB for the Giants. I liked both those guys in college and if they could run faster, would have loved to see them play for us.

I'm also interested in our 1st, second and third string lines (O and D) respond to the beatdown they suffered last week.

Most important thing I look for is getting through this game with no injuries.

This message is hidden because SanAngeloState is on your ignore list.
is that right....
