Sporting the silver threads

Hey all --

New England has broken out its third jersey for the today's game, the only time this season the team is in its silver shirts (with navy pants). The Pats are 3-1 in the alternate duds, the only loss coming last year against San Diego.

the silver uni's look better for night or otherwise cloudy day games - such as today. Too bad we can't just stick with them the rest of the way because they are alternates.

If we can't have old-school then I must admit I really like our blue pants/white shirt combo. I think they are sharp and since the silver jerseys look nearly the same to me on TV, those are good too. I much prefer the white/blue unis more than the blue jersey/silver pants. Overall...our uniforms could be much worse. (Like during most of the Bledsoe/Parcells era.)

Well, considering how poorly we'd done this season in Blue, I'm glad and unsurprised that the Silver unis performed so well today. I say they switch the Silver to the standard jersey next season. Blue stinks. Or rather, the team stinks in blue. We're 10-4, and all four losses were in blue! Ban the blue!

It seemed that about two years ago or so when they wore the blue jerseys they wore grey pants, but now when they wear blue jerseys they wear silver pants.

Did they actually switch or am I just imagining things?

You're imagining things.

They were always silver, at least since their introduction in 2000. They probably only looked grey with the late season overcast weather conditions. They shine in the early fall sunlight.
