This is a great idea and all...... but man is it going to be difficult to tell who everyone is. At least the players all have numbers so you can still tell who they are from far away.

That's what I had originally thought, but what I did was put my old avatar in my signature.

I don't have avatars or signatures turned on. Out of respect for Myra, I've jumped on the initiative and put the banner in my personal signature. (Well I will when the bloody thing feels like showing itself)
