So many dates kicking around, who really knows?

That aside, the highlight of that link was the police blotter on the right.

"02 DAYS WITHOUT AN ARREST."

Funny, in a sad way. Yeah, we need football to start.

Apparently Bob Kraft likes the deal. He commented, "Such a deal, I would not give my own mother!"

I'm sure this will be followed up by a rumor from the players' side that both sides couldn't be farther apart than if they started negotiating the deal yesterday and the owners are just making it all up.

I fully expect the owners to vote on and approve the CBA at the owners' meeting next week, but these rumors and reports are getting a little ridiculous.

Man, I hope that happens.....Start TC on time and let's get on with football instead of all this BS ( to us fans anyways) :rocker:

What the hell that article was skitzo.

We’ve got no interest in breaking the news that a new labor deal has been finalized but heres the date it will be finalized.

but we really dont think that is the date it will be finalized just the date they are targeting to finalize

Like every aspect this is subject to change.

I am dizzy. Florio sux

Free Agency is going to be a fascinating, high speed spectacle this year. Can't wait to see what happens, and not only with the Patriots. Tampa Bay will likely have to double its team's total salary to hit the cap floor, the Colts and Steelers will be over the limit, and the Jets will be right against it with a bunch of FAs they need to sign to keep from taking a major step back.

Just read the fine print in Kraft's ST shipping announcement. Promises a full refund if there's no season.:mad::mad:

He's so parsimonious (I kid).

I am glad you added the (I KID) or I would have had to say two words to you.....Tom Brady!

AlbertBreer: Significant progress on rookie salary system today. In fact, if the parties can work out a couple minor issues, it could be solved.

Hope this is true :)

Looks like 1st round rookies will get 4 year deals with an option year in year 5 that will pay them in the top 10 for their position.

"Details for the scale are uncertain but multiple sources told ESPN.com senior NFL writer John Clayton earlier Wednesday that owners were willing to move toward the players' position regarding the fifth-year option in contracts of players selected top 10 overall, the sources said. The owners, sources said, offered to pay those players the top 10 salaries at their positions in their fifth year."

NFL lockout -- Owners, players agree to rookie wage scale, sources say - ESPN

So if a player still on their rookie contract turns out to be a success story, then teams will have the OPTION of paying them top 10 salary for a 5th year of service or else let them enter into free agency and just wait for the comp picks.

Can't wait for this CBA thing to finally get wrapped up. Starving for real football news. On the bright side, if things get done in time, there will be a flood of free agents to look forward to.
