Just for the fun of it, let's list 3-5 players who could realistically be available at #28 and if you would be happy if the Patriots picked any one of those players.

On the other hand, list one or more players that are consensus ranked from 20-35 that you would be unhappy if the Patriots pick any one of those players.

Also are there any player(s) that you have still yet to make up your mind about who are in that consensus 20-35 area.

sold on:

Ryan Kerrigan
Mike Pouncey
Mark Ingram
Ras I Downing
Leonard Hankerson

Not Sold on:
Ryan Williams - Although I could get sold
Jimmy Smith
Jerrel Jernigan- Why draft Dion Branch when you have Dion Branch
Danny Watkins

Undecided:
Brooks Reed- maybe later but not #28

Hard to answer ... fairly certain #28 or #33 is getting shipped out. Better value is to ship out #28 ... but who is left on the board decides that anyways.

Take Carimi and put him at guard where he will thrive.

I would continue to use the upper part of my list below to see if anyone is left (perhaps Kerrigan). The choice wouldm also depend on who we have picked earlier. I would expect to choosing among Wilson, Carimi and Wilson.

UNSURE IF THEY ARE WORTH #28
Watkins
Wisnewski

PLAYERS 10-32

WOULD PICK
Jordan
Watt
Kerrigan
Wilkerson
Costonzo
Jones
Ingram
Amakmura
Smith (LB)
Heyward
---------
Reed
Carimi
Wilson

WOULD NOT
Locker
Quinn
Ayers
Paea
Taylor
Luiget
Solder
Harris
Pouncey

UNSURE
Clayborn

TOP 9 NOT EXPECTED TO BE THERE
Darius
Peterson
Smith (OT)
Green
Miller
Fairly
Bowers
Newton
Gabbert

I agree someone needs to take first 27 off the board and we need to know what Pats did at #17. If Carimi is there and Pats took outside pass rusher, IMO it is a no-brainer - take Carimi and may be even Pouncey if he has U Meyer's endorsement.

I also agree that #28 might be better value to be traded, especially if a QB falls.

It's a small risk in taking a chance the guy you want falls 5 more spots to #33 ... I really don't think we use it.

Quickly. 10-33

Quinn
Miller
Jordan
Watt
A Smith
Heyward
Wilkerson
Leshoure
Ingram
Hankerson
Clayborn
Reed

I'm positvely sure that I will not be dissapointed if any of these players will be picked by the Patriots 17, 28 or 33.

Unsure of all o-line prospects in first 2 rounds. None really stick out to me as sure fire starters. I recognize the need but have a hard time giving up a 1st for any of the OT which all project as guard and right tackle. The rollerskating club just doesn't do it for me this year. I do realize that they will probably use one of their 2nds on one and it is dissapointing to me.

Will add unsold players later.

guys i would like the pats to draft that may be there at #28
#1 Mike Pouncey, G
#2 Justin Houston,
#3 Cameron Heyward, DE
#4 Gabe Carimi, OT
#5 Jimmy Smith, CB

someone i would not want the pats to draft at #28
Mark Ingram, RB

not sure of ?

Brooks Reed, OLB

He is way too tall to play G. Now if you are playing him at RT, you have my itnterest piqued.

There's a long history of college players drafted to play tackle because of height/weight and college position that have eventually become guards. Off the top of my head there are several recent highly rated tall tackles that have become great guards such as Robert Gallery, Leonard Davis, and Brandon Albert. Offensive line is one of the few positions in football where height really isn't critical.

SOLD:
Carimi (not sure he'll still be there)
Watkins
Acho (though he'll probably still be available at #33)

UNDECIDED:
Pouncey (not sure he'll still be there)
Reed
Houston (not sure he'll still be there)
Sherrod
Ballard (probably still available at #33)

NOT SOLD:
Getting to be an unmanageably long list

Perhaps great is too strong of an adjective here.

Allen Bailey
Gabe Carimi
