It seems the cause of death is always listed as unknown too.

David Griggs died at age 28 in a car crash, Rodney Culver died at age 28 in a plane crash, Doug Miller was struck by lightning, Curtis Whitley overdosed, and Chris Mims died of a heart attack.

Unlike the 70's Steeler dynasty where everyone who died was put down with a broken leg.

Yeah, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean the Charger team. I meant lately we've seen former NFL players die at a young age and the story always goes cause of death is unknown. At first at least.

Too many former athletes die at a young age. It is truly sad.

It's strange how somebody from the Bolts died as a result of being struck by lightning.

I believe I read that the average life span for an NFL player is 57 or 58 years. Which sounds worse than boxing.

Even stranger is that he got hit twice.
