Not playing in the AFC championship game against the steelers.

I live in PA and I went to the grocery store and it was just flat out packed. And there was a ton of people with steeler crap on. Presumably loading up on snack food for the game. I'm thinking to myself the whole time, we should be playing these guys. We should be blowing them out and running up the score today. These guys shouldn't be walking around all confident because they are playing the Jets and not us. I just wanted to throw up.Then to add salt into the wound, on tv it's Jets/Steelers talk. They should be talking Pats/Steelers.ARGHH!!!!

BB needs to make this right.no more post season collapses. Get some pass rushers, get some stud front 7 guy in the draft.Just right the ship, PLEASE!

I also felt some pangs over the fact that there will not be a game in Foxborough today. Of course, I have moved on from the loss last weekend, but still...

I know what you mean. Today is going to suck. That old Killjoys song keeps running through my head:

There's a shadow creeping slowly over everything
And one more shadow won't help anything, so go away
And if I hurt you, well I'm sorry that was not my intention
I'll be better to all those who come back another day

Well today I hate everyone
Today I hate everyone
Today I hate everyone
Today I hate everyone

We did have a SB team this year, we just didn't execute.

An interception on a screen pass, a dropped TD pass, a failed fake punt and a 7+ minute drive ending in no points usually doesn't lead to victory.

Wasn't because of a lack of pass rush. Yes, of course that was the most obvious need during the season and it goes without saying that it will help us greatly in the long run but we did not lose to the Jets because of it.

After that game there was no "Wow, we OBVIOUSLY need a ____, so this doesn't happen next year!". The Pats beat themselves.

yep living in pa pretty much sucks... today at least...

Yeah I was slowly improving over the course of the week in terms of getting over the loss but I knew today was gonna be hard. And it has been. To think it's gonna be August before we can see the Pats play any type of game...it's tough.

This part of the year can be the best of times or the worst of times. Good if we go to the sb but bad if we get eliminated early. Before I could move on to the B's and the C's but i'm not as big a fan of hockey and basketball like I used to be. I still love the Red Sox and that's who i'm counting on to hold me over until football season starts again even still, opening day is a little over 2 months away.

Agree. And let us not forget about the NFL Draft, where the Patriots figure to be major players and hopefully consolidate another great draft like last year that could possibly help them secure some elusive post-season success.

I think it's just a matter of philosophy. Our sb winning teams won the line of scrimmage. That's what we need to get back to. Yes, you can have good seasons like last year and this year but in order to go deep and win sb's, winning the line of scrimmage is a must.

lets hope its august, our hope is to get the leauge buisness in order first... i also just keep thinking what could have been... but it was not ment to be... :bricks:

No we shouldn't be playing those guys, we played like dog **** and we weren't who we thought we were. The good news is we are only 3 or 4 pieces and great execution away from being back in the big game.

It was the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning. I thought, wow, it's Championship Sunday and I should be heading to Gillette to tailgate for the Steelers.

Good point. Yeah let's just cross our fingers and hope that both sides can come to an agreement. I can't imagine not being able to watch football next fall/winter. It's already a large gap in terms of when the season ends to starting the next, let's not make that gap larger.

i am over it..pats just arn't that good anymore come playoffs

I acknowledge the fact our team has had some struggles in the playoffs lately, it isn't easy being dominant for so long, like we ARE.

Head up gang, we had a great season and maybe we were a couple of plays short of the AFC title game, but if NE has taught me anything, it is that that game is over.

It's done.

Over.

Let's enjoy the games today.

We'll be good for a while yet....sit back and have a couple cold ones.

Well I'm not one of those "whatever is is right" folks. This sucks and it sucks because it is self-inflicted. It "is", but it's wrong.

Go Pack!!

I'm over it... as long as the Steelers win. After SB42, I decided that I wasn't going to let sports derail my entire month like that anymore.

I'm in PA too so I know how you feel. My facebook newsfeed is just making me want to cry right now. Everybody getting hyped up for 6:30 just like I thought I would be at this time last week.

I thought I was over but looks like I'm not still.

I won't be over this season until February 11th. By then the Super Bowl talked should have died down and hockey, basketball, and baseball should reemerge in my life

I started to get over during the week, at least to the point where it wasn't the only thing on my mind. But yesterday I went to the grocery store and there were 4 team balloons....the Pats weren't one of them.

Then today was worse, I had to take down x-mas decorations (we're late, I know) when I should be tailgating at Gillette....it hurts so much
