Relax, head back to your forums, and look ahead. It's one game. Wild card teams have about the same chance to get to the superbowl as the 3rd or 4th seed, they play the same # of games. No reason to sound like you want to kill yourself after this game, that is unless you bet some absurd amount of money for god knows what reason.

I dont think we have a prayer to go anywhere man. I think our season is over but thanks for the encouragement anyway. You guys should go all the way but once you get in the playoffs anyone can go, look at the Cards two years ago.

You just said yourself that the Pack go anywhere. There is no reason they don't get a wildcard spot with Aaron Rodgers back at QB. Once they're in its anyones game. Look at the Cards two years ago.

I doubt it man. Have you watched this team? We always choke when it is all on the line. We will be one and done if we get in. Last nights loss hurt enough. Look man Im just hurting right now over this team.

If the GB forums are anything like this one is after a loss by the Pats, he may be better off hanging around here for a couple of days.

I just realized that last night's game was the most points the Packers have allowed all year - and also their biggest defeat of the season, even though it came down to the last play of the game.

If the Packers miss the playoffs, they and their fans are going to be going through a whole lot of would'a-could'a-shoulda's for the first eight months of 2011. They are 0-2 in OT games, have lost four games by three points, and lost two games by four points. In other words in their six losses they were outscored by a grand total of just twenty points.

The difference between being the NFL's best team and on the outside looking in on the playoffs is razor thin.

You had to remind me of that stat lol. I thought you guys would blow us out 42-10 actually.

That's kind of the point - the Pats didn't blow the Packers out. Actually it is a testament to how good the Packers are. I think a lot of people look at the playoff standings, the won-loss record and not much more; maybe 'how could they have lost that game', or the running game stats. In spite of not just a lot of injuries, but injuries to key players - Ryan Grant, Cullen Jenkins, etcetera - Green Bay has been in a position to win each and every game this year.

I'd say there's no reason to assume the season is done - or that they can't advance if they do make the playoffs.

Your coach was smart. Your DC knew our offense intimately and had extensive experience with the NEP due to the time he spent here. Additionally, he brought in new backs for the game, was starting a QB for the first time in his career(so there was no film of him ANYWHERE of him after a full week of reps with the starters in a real game), and changed his game plan.
BB had nothing to study, and had no idea what to expect. It took over a half to accumulate enough info to figure out what your O was doing. And your d, with the inside info, and general tenaciousness was playing lights out all night. That took till the 4th quarter to figure out and make adjustments for.

Im glad you have faith cause I dont in this team. We can keep the game close but we always lose at the end. I dont see that changing. You have your heart ripped out week after week. You guys are the much better team then we are. I just cant see this team beating anyone in the NFC.

Huh? Beat the Giants and Bears at home, the Green Bay Packers earn a wild card spot.

Re: Hernandez says it best

So what were the Green Bay Packers?

ANSWER: A playoff caliber defense.
So the Jets and Bears aren't playoff caliber defenses ? Thanks for letting us know

I was going to say get in as a wild card and you could play the NFCW division winner, but now that I think about it that would most likely have to be the Saints or Falcons as the #5 seed. You really think the Packers have no shot against the Bears, Eagles or Giants? Although they may not be favored, I can certainly see GB beating any one of those teams.

I hope so. How do you get over a loss like this and bounce back though. That will be tough.

Honestly all three of those teams I cant see us ever beating.

Lambeau12, you need put your chin up and have some faith. This Packers team is capable of much more than you're giving them credit for. Even after two losses in a row, they now control their own destiny to make the playoffs and all they have to do is win 2 home games in a stadium that they play pretty well in. Yeah, we've been through a lot this season with our roller-coaster of injuries and all, but they've had their adversity and they've overcome them for the most part. And the best part is that our team is now set up for long-term success, especially once we get a healthy roster for next year (barring a lock-out).

Of course it seems like they've lost a lot of close games, but it all depends on how you look at it. They're probably the only team that hasn't lost a game by more than a touchdown. Thats much better than being 8-6 and having a few blowout losses. Look at it this way... they are 6-0 in games decided by 5 points or more. See, sometimes you can twist the stats to say whatever you want... so don't worry about the close losses, it just means that they're capable of matching up with any team that takes the field against them. The whole thing about their record in close games is just the media creating some controversy (trust me, even the local sports guys usually don't cheer for the team... they cheer for the story, so they love these close losses because it gives them a good story that the fans eat up).

Of course they have a tough road to the superbowl, as it'll now have to be as a wildcard, but I think they can beat any team out there on any field. For example, when they played Atlanta (and lost at the last second by a field goal) did you really get the impression that we couldn't beat them if we got another shot at them? I didn't, and I would be optimistic that they'd be able to upset the Falcons (or any other team for that matter) if they face them in the playoffs.

Listen to these Pats fans on this board here. They've been around the block a few times, and they know what good teams look like... And they recognize when a fan like you is overreacting to a couple recent tough losses. :itsok:

TOP and offensive struggles go and in hand. The TOP was so low because the offense couldn't sustain a drive. And I'll certainly give GB credit where its due, but this is the same NE offense we watched rip apart the Steelers, Jets, and Bears in a 5 week span. Win is a win but the offenses execution was pretty poor and our defense saved us.

The recovered onside kick, Arrington's pick-six, and the defense's inability to get off the field on third down had a lot more to do with it than trouble sustaining drives. The offense didn't even see the field in the second half until there were 5 minutes left in the third quarter.
