No one is talking about him but I think he definitely will be available for us on in round 2. I like him a little bit better than Damian Williams because Benn has a thick frame and is fast. Downside is that they say he is lazy and did not produce well last season with Illinois. What do you all think? This kid can make some sweet catches.

I avoid both those players.

I like Brandon LaFell and Mardy Gilyard more than both of those guys.

Benn scored a rousing 11 on his Wonderlic. Do you really think he could learn the PAT's offense if Joey Galloway couldn't !!

Perhaps, that seems to be a measure of book smart more than football smart, though I grant it's a caution flag. Coach O'Shea gave him the eye at his Pro-Day, so he's had specific attention at least.

I'm not a fan of tards on the Patriots, but Chris Johnson got a 10 the first time on his wonderlic test and he's one of the best offensive playmakers in the NFL.

That would mean that Tebow is smarter than Chris Johnson and Vince Young combined.

Heh.

I like him in round 2 not round 1. Hard worker, big, good RAC.

good hands, good blocker... definite 2nd round pick

Mayock has this kid ranked as his third best receiver so he's worth a look.

Reminds me too much of Braylon Edwards for my liking.

i think he will be a star in the NFL but he will not be on the bord when the pats pick at #44

the pats need defense. the first two picks should be used on a DE and a OLB then the pats can go WR. TE. or RB

So Benn is working out with Antonio Cromartie. Why these kids get aligned with questionable characters is beyond me. Right before the draft when everyone is watching you so closely. I just wonder when a kid like this is associated with someone like Cromartie who has obviously made some horrible life decisions. I remember hearing Dez Bryant was going to be at Pac Man Jones private workout and just thought to myself "jeez kid can you do anyting else that will drop you further?". Why of course he can. He forgot his cleats to his private workout where he had his only chance to impress. It's just mind boggling.

I love Benn for the Pats in the 2nd round. I see him as a Boldin (who I wanted badly during the rumors) clone who can break tackles, run you over, and is fearless going over the middle. I'm not that concerned about his production because Juice Williams is a joke of a QB.

I think the Steelers will be looking to pick up Benn in the 2nd round

Santonio Holmes is getting suspended 4 games at the start of the season and is in the doghouse in the Rooney family

Speculation has it that the Steelers will not be retaining him in 2011 so they need to find a replacement if this is true.

How quickly you can fall from being a SB MVP to a schmuck in less than 3 years.

I see National Football Post has him as the #2 receiver. Can't post a link (not not posts) but they also rate Dwyer as the #3 RB.

WRs are so tough to project. I'm not sure how sophisticated Illionis' offense is, but I'm pretty sure his QB constantly threw the ball late and off target. The only guy I feel more or less comfortable projecting is Golden Tate - and I think he's going to be a good WR. I'm not sure I'd take Tate at 22 (especially with Hughes on the board), but he'll probably be gone in the 28-38 range. So I'd either trade down and see if he's still there, or move up from 44 if he slides into the mid 30s. Outside of that, I think it's a real deep class with guys like Decker, LaFell, Price, Shipley, Gilyard, Roberts, etc. I'd be happy to sit and see who slips to 53, or perhaps even trade down 10-15 spots and still get a good WR.

Smart and well thought out post. Bucky. Add Marcus Easley and Blair White to your list. With Moss in his contract year, adding a future #1 WR is important in either this yr's or next yr's draft. Decker, if he checks out medically, could be that guy for the future, imo, since he will slide in this yr's draft.
