Who else saw the sign during half time of the NCAA Basketball Championship game last night on CBS?

I believe it said something like "Go Pats! We aren't scared of Indy. Go Duke!"

He was wearing a #26 blue Pats jersey and I can't recall what players have worn that #.

He had good position to be behind the desk where the analysts talked during halftime so it had plenty of exposure.

I'm sure I can dig up a pic or video unless someone else already knows where to find it.

Maybe we can even track down this super fan.

I somehow missed seeing this guy but my guess on #26 is Eugene Wilson.

Yes, saw that and got a chuckle. Great to see inside the Colts Oil Can stadium.

Was watching Fox Soccer Channel on the weekend and they were interviewing a U.K. soccer fan. He was wearing a pats logo baseball cap.

i hate the dukies

nice! thanks!

noticed it too, gave me a chuckle

Yeah, my UNC/Panthers friend I was watching the game with was instantly extra pissed.

I'm thinking #26 is probably a custom jersey with his own last name on it.

UNC and the New England Patriots symbolize all that is good and holy.
I hate the Dookies.
Coach K=Bill Polian.

Bologny.

Being a Duke fan is a lot like being a Pats fan. The "evil" coach is in fact an extremely humble, quiet, private man with a military background who praises the opponent more than his own team before games. Both coaches get a lot done even when on paper they aren't the best team. Both are beloved by the fans to a rabid degree.

Both teams inspire an irrational hatred by idiots all over the country, partly born out of respect.

I saw that sign it was hilarious and quite apt, there is a lot in common between Duke and the Patriots (though Duke started winning championships a decade earlier than the Pats).

UNC fans are OK, my wife is one of them. But I always hope they lose to Duke.

One thing I know, being on campus Monday night running around the bonfire on campus was a hell of a lot more fun than being in Chapel Hill that night :singing:

Give me a break. What about 365 days ago? YYou think a couple wannabee Ivy kids throwing toilet paper in a bon fire outside their dorm is really fun? What about the fact that Franklin Street and Chapel Hill is 10 times the town Durham is.

LOL. Where was UNC in the tournament? How'd they place this year? Is that picture from Chapel Hill last week, did I miss some celebration on Franklin Street?

As for wannabe Ivy League kids, I wouldn't know, as I'm just on staff at Duke. And again, not exactly relevant. If Duke is wannabe Ivy League, what does that make UNC? Wannabe UMass? LOL. I went to UNH, we could also throw a good party up there. Does that mean I want my kid getting an education there, versus Duke? Probably not.

The UNC fan's time to talk trash has passed. They sucked this year, didn't even put up a fight against Duke. They were like Miami of 2007. Even Miami fans didn't have the gall to talk trash against us that year. UNC fans hate Duke, obviously, but right now they got nothin' except holding up their beers and saying they know how to party better.

OK, you win that one. :rocker:

With a roster full of McDonald's All-Americans, when has Coach K played the part of David? You might be living in 1991 (UNLV). If anything, they got a cupcake bracket again this year. Also, they almost NEVER schedule true road games (if you see they'll play other powerhouses at neutral sites or at Cameron. How humble is he when calls himself the "leader of men" in an Amex commercial?!

The Pats certainly do. The hatred teams have for the Pats is not "irrational" - they hate us because we won a lot of games against some really good teams and they think cameras were involved. People hate Dook because of the floor slapping and "nipple twisting" and jersey grabbing defense they play. Having some of the most annoying personalities come through your program also fosters some hatred by the opposition. Why don't people hat Kansas or UNC as much (programs that began winning championships before the last decade).
Oh yeah, and UNC doesn't take Juco transfers either (we'll just take your best recruit (Harrison Barnes and Brandon Wright).

Sorry, friend. I see Dookies a lot like I see Jets, Yankees, Canadiens.

Thank you! Everybody hates us and everybody hates Duke, how are the Colts Duke?

The Colts are a lot like Dook. Nobody works the officials like Coach K or the competition committee like the Colts. Also, while both teams are great, Dook's win this year is as soft as the Colts in 2006. Yes, I am totally whining right now, but it is what it is. The 2009 Tarheels sweep this Dook team by double digits (as do the Florida teams that won a few years ago) just like the 2006 Colts were weak compared to champions pre and post.

Nipple twisting? What parallel universe have I just walked into? Like a Jets fan saying Pats win because we cheat. Sore losers.

As for the claim that Duke is stacked with talent, name five high-level NBA stars that have come from Duke in the last decade. You can't, because they don't come to Duke. Grant Hill is the only one from recent memory. One problem Duke has is that they keep their (extremely high) academic standards the same for athletes, which means they deny themselves some of the most talented people in the country.

But Coach K does a great job with what he is given. We've never had a Jordan, or a Magic, or a Kareem.

I admit that Duke hate is more irrational than Patriots hate. Thanks for helping me make my point.

Cutting through the talk, Duke is the champion right now, despite admittedly not having the most talent (again thanks for making my point). All the talk is just that. I know where the rings went this year, and a lot of people like to hate Duke for it. Enjoy the hate. They may not have had the toughest schedule, but they won the championship, and played great. Perhaps you didn't see them play against Michigan State. Butler was a very tough win, and frankly a coin flip.

But despite all your talk, Duke was left standing at the end of the Big Dance. Sorry if it tears your guts up that we won.

Incidentally, the funny thing about that pic from Franklin Street used to critique kids running around fires throwing toilet paper as fuel, is the bonfire on the left with the toilet paper hanging above it from a tree. lol
