Why not sign him to a lower offer and add in incentives. Low risk with big upside, considering his late season improvement.

I think that's more or less what the Patriots are trying to do.

That's good. He may not have been a game-breaker but he's better than nothing.

Damning with faint praise. *g*
I agree that he's better than nothing.
At least he has experience with the system now.

The point of mentioning Grady and Richard is that there currently our #6 or #7 defensive lienmen. I did not impgly, nor did I mean to imply, that either player has the ghost of a chance of being a roster replacement for Brugess or Green for that matter.

Please, if you're going to be mentioning Grady for any reason, don't as a substitute for Burgess. Both players you mentioned are defensive tackles. Burgess is a not really big DE/OLB hopeful. Green is a DE/pass rusher and their is no indication Richards could do what he does.

260 lb pass rusher does not equal 6'1" 298 lb. tackle (Grady).

He's gonna want to double up on those undees, cuz that door is comin in hot after that @ss!

Towards the end of the season he was starting to pick up on the 2 gap read and react and shedding blocks effectively. I think that he will be given a contract and given a chance to compete for a roster spot this fall.

OK. I appreciate your roster lists, but it sure seemed like you were penciling them in as replacements. I don't see any DT types having much of a chance to stick unless they are serious candidates to play some 3-4 DE. Richard is 6'4" and some pre draft publications rated him ahead of Pryor, who's been a nice surprise, plus he's supposed to be a good character, very smart guy.

At 6'1", Grady looks to have a tough road, with Brace and Pryor and the rest of the tackles. Losing Seymour and Green leaves only Wright and Warren at end.
