Kelley Washington: "The era is over"

Re: Kelly Washington: "The era is over"

We've been on the decline for a while now. We just don't want to admit it.

"This morning I woke up and said to myself, 'When the Patriots lose to the Ravens, I'm going to go on that Patriots fans message board, register, pretend I'm a fan, and talk like a Chicken Little the whole time just to rub it in."

Sorry, troll, but we have enough of our actual fans to play the role of Chicken Little, but thanks anyway.

When you lose a first round playoff game at home the way the Patriots did today after a season marked by inconsistency AND
you have NO young players who are potential stars

KW is 100% correct the era is over.

Time to start a new one..but it will probably take years and hate to say this..but the next few years the Jets and Dolphins will be dominant

Not to sure of the Tuna....but the jest have a good thing going for them....

But of course when they loose next week....all of their accomplishments will be in vein..

Not sure I agree with that. We were 35 seconds from 19-0 and 4 SB wins in 7 years just 2 years ago. Then last year the reigning MVP, and holder of the record for most TD passes in a season, goes down 7 minutes into the year. Still we go 11-5. If we are in decline, it wasn't apparant before this year.

Re: Kelly Washington: "The era is over"

I've never been a fan of BB. I have always felt he was extremely over rated. Just look at his record without Brady.

Your act is tired already, you trolling whore. DIAGF.

With the Pats? 11-5... and I forget what happened in 2001...

I'm not sure Kelley knows what era means

Well it is the end of a decade...maybe he was talking about that?
Regardless, the Kelley Washington era ended last year and gave way to the Sam Aiken Era...I am not sure if that was a good thing for us.

Don't waste your time. I'm guessing it's a JEST fan.

It's time for the bannings to commence. It's hard enough as it is without dealing with trolls and their nonsense.

Re: Kelly Washington: "The era is over"

I am not a Jets fan. I have been a long time Patriot fan. Ever since they won their first Super Bowl in 2002.

your Jets are going to have a hard time winnning next week in SD. but good luck.

Re: Kelly Washington: "The era is over"

KW said, "The error is over." A simple factual statement. Once the game ended, the Pats stoped making errors.

Vrabel, Bruschi, Harrison, these guys were not playing at Mayo and Meriweather's level their first few years.

Were you around in the 90s?

Meriweather, Butler, Mayo, Vollmer, could all become stars. Edelman and Welker can be around for awhile.

Pryor, Wright, Chung, Sanders have more to prove. Guyton, I don't know about him, he seems lost.

Mankins is still youngish.

To say the Patriots have no young guys who could become stars is just silly.

Like I said we should have kept Kelly Washington over Sam Aiken... but no... we feel we can outsmart ourselves... Which is the reason we are sitting at home and the Jets , Ravens are not...

Re: Kelly Washington: "The era is over"

Patriots deserve every shot taken at them with the way they played today. It was a disgrace from top to bottom n it all starts with bb.

What are you kidding me let's try starting with the ownership who refuses to spend bonus money to keep and attain talent. If anyone thinks that the Krafts aren't at the top of the blame pie you just don't get it.

Re: Kelly Washington: "The era is over"

I'm amazed how little fight we showed out there today. Aside from Edelman, this was an all out weak effort. I've never been one to give up hope but I'm afraid Kelly's right. I just pray we can field a championship caliber team before Brady retires.

I hope to see another championship in my lifetime. You look at some of these teams and they haven't won in 30 or 40 years or not at all...

Ravens fan here. Hate to see one of our guys making comments like that, Kelly Washington is a tool. Y'all are used to some awfully good football! From the sound of things, some of you want to get rid of BB and TB and start all over! That's crazy! I can't say I typically pull for the Patriots (at least I haven't been since Steve Grogan left ...) but what an organization over the past decade, sustained excellence is no easy task and you've done it.

I think TB has got at least one more in him. You guys had an off year when you were going through a big transition and still made the playoffs and won your division. The rest of the NFL is still trying to emulate what you've done over the last decade and, from my perspective, I think your franchise has plenty more in the tank. Hope (and fully expect) to see you in the playoffs next year!

we'll see you there. what knuckleheads like washington don't quite grasp is every year is a new era in the new nfl. that's why marginal players like him keep going from team to team hoping to ride someone else's coattails.

Thanks. I think there are a lot new "Pats" posters on here today and some younger posters that are frustated at losing having only known the last 10 years with this team. There will be 31 teams disappointed this year! I think this is a good reality check to the more recent fans of the club that have no idea how hard it is to actually win the championship...let alone become a dynasty. Sometimes even the best team does not win (see: 2007) which was by the way just TWO years ago.

If it is the end - it was one hell of a ride, but I don't think we are done yet. I do not think it is the end or time to get rid of Brady! I think the Pats are in the middle of re-tooling the defence and hopefully things will go well with next year's draft (and the one following with the Raiders pick!). We'll see what comes from that and it could be exciting to see how the defence get reshaped.

Yeah I remember being 8 years old when the Orioles won the world series in 1983. That was the first year I ever watched baseball. I remember thinking that, clearly, the Orioles would win every World Series for the rest of my life, that this must just be the natural order of things.

Still waiting ...

I was actually really disappointed that year you guys lost to the Bears. I was so sure Tony Eason was going to expose Chicago's defense for the pretenders that they really were ... but that didn't work out any better than my Orioles-will-win-every-world-series-ever hypothesis.
