Bob Glauber (Sports - Newsday) tweeted earlier today that the Pats are hopeful Taylor will return in a few weeks.

I don't really know Glauber from your uncle Jim, but is there any chance he really has a bead on this?

Pats still hopeful he returns in a few weeks (ankle). @Dknyj How come there's ZERO word on Fred Taylor's time table to return for NE?

Re: May have stumbled over a Fred Taylor update.

That was a bad ankle injury. I wasn't expecting him to return until mid to late December, if at all. If he does return in a few weeks (which would be late November to early December), I will be impressed. Either way, we're going to need him back for a playoff run.

I like Maroney but it will be very nice to get Morris and then Taylor back.

Everything I've heard from the sports docs who frequent SOSH, is that if the injury is what they think it is, he'll probably never play again.

Considering that the Patriots have not IR'd him, I have to assume that the Patriots' pretty good sports docs, who have actually EXAMINED and OPERATED on Taylor, have a contrary opinion.

yeah, im kinda upset that there is basically no news on Taylors injury/return.

Maybe. Or, it could be that they don't have anyone that they think hes worth IRing to replace him with, an they still think there's a small chance he'll be back.

Remember, when Thomas broke his arm, they didn't IR him till a couple weeks later. They won't IR Taylor unless theres 0% chance he'll come back this season, or they're forced to by roster constraints.

I think if belichick thought that there was less then 50% that he would be back then he would have brought someone in awhile ago! Belichicks job is to win games not sit and play games with someone who is injured!

Has Fred Taylor taking up a roster spot lost them a game? Who is available that would outperform their current runningback approach? (Maroney and Faulk)

I'd have to agree. Despite all reports to the contrary, this circumstantial evidence points to a probable return. Perhaps BB is now waiting for (or already has) a report on his rate of recovery? If he's ahead of schedule, his chances of returning may be better than most of us realize. Conversely, if he was behind schedule I'm sure BB would waste no time with the ax.

Actually, I have it from a pretty good source that both Morris and Taylor have actually passed away. Services were held in Foxboro while the team was in London to keep it a secret.
