I think the decision of opening the roof for the game could be a difference with the open air helping New England in hearing signals ect:

Crowd noise would be a slight bit less and make it a little less irritable for NE so because of that,I think evil Polian goes with the enclosed roof and the piped up noise although the weather calls for very comfortable temps

Nice for Polian to wait so long to let BB know although I doubt it would change the game plans any.

98% chance they will close it to help the Colts play in cozy conditions.

If they open it and there is a slight wind Vinatieri might as well not dress for the game.

Right now (Sat evening) it's gorgeous outside, temperature is about 71 at 5:30 in the evening. Sunday's forecast is more of the same, so it will be a perfect night for football.

I have no doubt that Polian will come up with something - a rain shower 400 miles away in Iowa or something - and he'll use that as an excuse to close the roof.

I don't even know why they have a retractable roof, Pay-Me-A-Ton might get a chill, poor baby.

Also I thought it had to be 90 minutes before gametime per NFL rules. Hmm, I guess I misheard that.

lol...

yet another advantage for the colts?

Re: Colts won't decide on roof or no roof till 1 hour before the game

it will be closed, the fake crowd noise bounces around better when its closed.

Re: Colts won't decide on roof or no roof till 1 hour before the game

I know a guy who knows a guy who worked in the RCA dome, and he told me that one day the NFL was doing a walk through of the stadium with Polian and they came accross a CD labeled "Bil Polien's Greatest Hits" (Because he can't even spell his own name correctly) so the NFL guy was like "Wow Bill, I didn't know you were a musician!" And Polian tries to get him not to listen to it but the NFL dude just thought he was being modest but when he pressed play all you could hear was fans cheering louder than humanly possible. The NFL guy got really cross, but then realized the Pats were in next week and forgot about it, but Polian wasn't going to accept that so he pulled out his umbrella all Penguin style and shot some gas at the dude that made him forget. Also he kidnapped his first born just in case and sent him to learn football so the Colts could draft hm.

True Story.

So they decide an hour before the game? Big deal. Is that against the rules or something?

Yep, and then he had the rules changed so no one could listen to any of his cds

Actually I thought it had to be made 2 and half hours before game time.. I was more off than u.. or that article is incorrect..

As BB would say ' Both teams are going to play on the same field' . No big deal . Thats why its home field advantage. Iam sure the pats keep all the cleared snow piled on the sidlines when the dolphins come in december to foxboro in the past for e.g.

It's 90 minutes prior to game time. If it was last weekend, it likely would be closed. But it's pretty nice this weekend, so my guess is it will be open. If for no other reason so they can show it off for the blimp shots on Sunday Night Football.

And if they close it, they might not have to bother dressing their KO returner.

It's Ok if they close the roof. There gonna have nothing to cheer about cause were gonna blow them out

i have NO IDEA why u pats fans complain about the Colts having a dome and Peyton never having to play outside and stuff....Its not like Manning was around when they built the dome. He just came in and did his job....

I dont complain about peyton, I complain when people compare peyton to brady, when Brady is clearly far better then him.

*shrug*, if the positions were reversed, Belichick would do the exact same thing. Never let your opponent know anything before it's absolutely necessary that they know it.

It's an NFL Rule, That the Dolts have to either Close it OR open it an Hour and a Half before the game Starts.

Yup, did they build a secret room in Lucas to pump in additional noise?

Ken, I met you and your Dad a few years ago for the AFC Championshipat your Dads bar.
