Thanks to the Patriots’ PR staff, here’s the transcript of Matt Cassel’s Q&A with the media this morning at Gillette Stadium:What is the biggest thing you need to get out of this bye week?*As a team we need to go out there and work on the things that we struggled with in the first three [...]

He interviews well, decent grasp of BB-speak. Nice to read he has Tommy in his corner.

Its great to see #12 is acting almost like his big brother because he needs Tom's knowledge and support on the game right now more than ever after a horrid defeat to keep Cassel's shaken confidence from declining more.

And Matt is a good speaker at these conferences but he has to stop that heavy sweating - He looks sweaty and nervous as if he was testifying in a murder trial

it's not going to last if he doesn't perform well. TB's support is not going to be indefinite.

I disagree. I think Tom will always be there to support Cassel this year. It may not make any difference, but I don't seem him saying, "Look kid, you stink, so... stop calling me ok?"

I just don't see that happening

I don't care for Cassel either but I don't think you realize how close Brady and Cassel really are - I bet they spend more time hanging out in the offseason and after games than you know.

In fact I think Brady was key in convicing BB this was his adequate replacement and there should be no other - I don't know if that is true and if it is, was it smart on Brady's behalf?

If Cassel's performance continues deteriating, I'm sure TB is going to have a serious conversation with him. It's going to be like this " I don't see that i can help you any more because you make me look bad when I convinced BB that you could lead us to the playoff. Our O has not scored for more than 20 pts and we played 'bad' teams. I spent a lot of times with you and you haven't done anything to show me that you LEARNED anything from me. We gave you second chance and you BLEW it."

Their friendship has to be put aside when Pats' season is at stake.

Perhaps your point is valid, I just don't see Brady saying those words. Call it a hunch.

Maybe later in the year (i.e. playoffs) Brady will tell Cassel to "just sling it".
