So, a sane person would look at a league with a commissioner and its cohorts that just performed a witch hunt replete with deception, manipulation, and malicious intent against a premiere team in the league and conclude that this was probably also true in their previous actions during spy gate. But nooooo, it was because he was pressured to do so because he loves the Patriots so much he only fined them a total of $750,000 and a first round draft pick for something that apparently every team does. The narrative that the Ravens promote is that the Patriots are the favorite sons and that they (Ravens) are persecuted, they do this very effectively while poking the eyes of the QB out or slapping the heads of receivers in full view of the refs. I truly believe that BB supplied Goodell with tapes chock full of other teams taping, and this was the reason they were destroyed by the NY NFl Mafia. We all know the Jets were filming the previous year, so Im sure that BB being the snarky man we all know and love, sent Roger a tape with plenty of Jets taping on it. At that point, Roger and his buddies had already told the world how dastardly, and horrific it was, so if they allowed those tapes to be seen the whole credibility of the NFL would have been shaken. The idea that he went easy on the Patriots is ludicrous.
Meanwhile ESPN, the people who brought us "they hate their coach," "The patriots have no class, like I do (LT)," "11 of 12" "the crying ex QB" etc have dredged up any and all dirt that they could try to muster after they also got their butt handed to them through the latter part of the drama. Does ESPN do a story with our allegations? How about "The Jets ruined the integrity of the Super Bowl in 1997 when they were arrogantly and openly flaunting their tampering of Bill Parcells during the playoffs and Super Bowl. OR why were the Jets allowed to investigate themselves for tripgate? Or, why were the balls at the Jets game over inflated to 16 psi, especially if the league rumors are that Brady likes them small? Why is a penalty called against the Patriots that had never been called before in NFL history when they happened to play the Jets? Or, why did the NFL buy that when the Jets taped signals that the Patriots gave them permission to do so. If this were true how much of an advantage could it have offered. Again logic is not their strong point. Or, why are the Jets, who are known serial tamperers (Parcells, Deion Branch, Desean Jackson, Darelle Revis) given a penalty that is ludicrously less than the precedent punishments to other teams? The NY Jets have a history of getting preferential treatment from the league, as well as a history of trying to use the league offices to their advantage. A league office that is based in NY and chock full of ex-Jets employees. The prevailing thought in New England is that the NFL kowtows to the NY Jets.
Now let's take a look at the Colts, the team rumored to have sound piped in to create an unfair advantage and subsequently harm the integrity of the game. When the Colts were thought to be caught with a recording that skipped, there was no inquest, there were no leaks, there was no innuendo, just a very quick statement that it was not what we thought we all heard. There were also rumors of the Colts jacking up the heat in their building, as well as (I might as well be a bomb thrower too) having players food tampered with. The Colts used the same influence with the league as the Jets, just more effectively. They had the fair haired boy of NFL royalty, not some 6th round scrub so they were entitled. They were the real trailblazers in all of this and claimed the Patriots cheated to beat them in the playoffs and somehow got the NFL to change the rules that everyone alive knew would profit them more than any other team. Yet no one in the NFL said "get the f--- out of here, you're trying to rig the game!" Even though that was what they did!
Then we went through 3 or 4 years of phantom pass interference calls, which just so happened to help who.....the Colts. And last but not least we had the "suck for Luck" season, a year where 10 year old boys knew they were throwing games in order to acquire the next fair hair boy of NFL royalty. HMM.....Integrity of the game? Rigging the game? Sounds like it to me.
