I'm not sure why. Someone else could give up 2 firsts. he could hold out throughout the offseason and make a trade likely.

Definitely. This is the guy who gave up the 83 yard run that sank our season.
Take a 1st and pick Dan Williams of Tennessee. 6'3" 320 and he'd be as good as Wilfork after about 1/2 a season....or play more 4-3, which I think we should do anyway.
Wilfork wants top $, sorry Charlie.

I think this is the closest in recent times :When was the last time someone forfeited 2 #1's to outright sign a franchise tagged player? I recall it's been a long time and it proved to be a disaster.
Are you sh!tting me? Wilfork was tied up on a double-team in that play. They trapped him and shut him down.

I think this is the closest in recent times :
"On April 22, 2008, the Chiefs traded Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings. In exchange, the Vikings sent the Chiefs a first-round pick, which they used to select OT Branden Albert, and two third-round picks and swapped sixth-round picks in the 2008 NFL Draft."
As much as we love Vince, though, I think every team would take the dynamic pass rusher over the two down run stopper.
I think it depends on your team. If your team has a lot of holes, like Denver's, the answer is NO.
But if your team is close, like Miami's, and has a huge gaping hole at NT in a 3-4 defense, then yes, you give up the two first rounders in a heartbeat.
Let me put it like this. If Ware were a FA, would you want the Pats to spend two first rounders to sign him? I know I would in a heartbeat, because we have a huge gaping hole at pass rusher and we might be playing in the Superbowl if we had 2 legitimate co-ordinators and a legitimate pass rusher.
I fully expect Miami to come hard after Vince, and if Big Vince gives Miami a home town discount, I expect Parcells to sign him. If Vince plays hardball on the cash, then I expect Parcells to pass and take the best LBer on the board at #12.

He'll yes. Guys I would consider possibly trading 2 1st for:
1. DeMarcus Ware
2. Jared Allen
3. Haloti Ngata
4. Darrelle Revis
