the worst rule in the NFL is the "Indianapolis Colts will have NO pass inteference penalties called on their defense during the regular season"....it's what happens when the league let's a lying, criminal scumbag like Polian chair the rules committee

Worst rule is the OT rule. If the team that scores first wins, you have to make them score a TD.

Bunk! (sorry, this topic strikes a nerve with me.)

That's the classic argument for fantasy footballers who don't care for defense. There are 3 facets to every team: offense, defense, and special teams.

CBS' Jim Nantz spearheaded the mis-informed crusade against sudden death a couple of years ago. His stats were one-sided and wrong - meaning he never took into consideration how many possessions each team had in overtime (in the most cases it was "at least" one). Sorry to be crude, but this debate is hackneyed.

The rule I hate is intentional grounding.Isn't it the QB's job not to take a loss.So the defense doesn't get a sack, but they did there job,and didn't let the QB gain any yards. How come spiking the ball isn't intentional grounding. What receiver was he throwing it to.

Bingo! I also hate the current intentional grounding rule. A QB should be required to throw a pass towards a receiver in order to avoid intentional grounding. None of this lame throwing between the tackles or to the line of scrimmage nonsense. Same goes with the QB spike. The QB should have to make the effort to throw in the direction of a receiver if he wants to throw the ball away. The QB spike is too much of a gimme.

Yeah I don't see how being in or out of the pocket affects the intentionallness of intentional grounding. Either way you have a bunch of angry 300 men coming after you, ang your trying to get rid of the ball so you don't take a sack.

The pass interference calls...

There is no consistency...one ref calls it close, the next guy lets a lot go if he thinks its incidental....sometimes a db barely touches a reciever ,seems to be looking for the ball ,gets flagged, another one mugs the reciever,no call......drives you nuts!
