I realize this doesn't fill any holes on the OL, but wouldn't opening up our trading lane with the Bucs again be a good idea? I'm sick of no downfield threat, assuming Brady can even hit him.

I wouldn't imagine that getting another outside WR to try and understand our playbook would be too easy. If so, there are plenty of options available for the right price. Whether or not BB wants to pay that price is anyone's guess, but I am doubtful.

Remember that Austin Collie had a lot of experience in a lot of what we did, aside from the specific verbiage/sets etc, and even he had to come early and stay late every single day in an attempt to pick it up. Would the new guy have that kind of work ethic, intelligence, and past experience to be where Collie was as an in-season pickup?

As you said--it also doesn't solve the inability to put the ball in the hands of the WRs anyway. One would think that a guy like Thompkins, Dobson, or even Amendola would be able to have some plays designed for them on occasion. At least they know what the hell is going on in our offense, or at least one would hope.

The time to get Jackson was when he became a free agent. Unless you're willing to pay overs, it would appear that the boat has sailed on Jackson.

To think that any one player would be a panacea for this team is folly... many times these heralded players are not able to adapt here to this complicated offense..

Jackson would be nice to have. But he is 31. If WR was our only problem then sure. But we need more than that. And if we trade for a WR we should trade for someone with more time left.

I'm sure Tampa would love to dump his contract but his age, contract and not knowing the offense makes it a possibility doomed to failure.

First, Tampa is still in the hunt in a bad NFC South. I don't think they have a chance to make the playoffs, but they will be still in the hunt by the trade deadline.

Second, adding a WR this late in the season won't do much of anything.

Third, Jackson has played like crap this year. I think he may be done.

The Pats need to get Dobson on the field if they want a big outside receiver, not trade for another receiver.

With all the talk of how complicated the offense is, I feel like maybe it's too complicated for everyone not named Bill or Tom.
