The trade deadline is quickly approaching and a lot of names are going to be thrown out there around the league. Guys like Hunter Renfrow, Jaylon Johnson, Montez Sweat, Derrick Henry…and pretty much anyone who plays for the Broncos. In an attempt to not turn this one into a ***** fest, let’s take compensation out of it but let’s try to keep it realistic about who teams are willing to trade. That means no Joe Burrows or Justin Herberts of the league. Who are guys you would like to see donning the flying Elvis this year and beyond and why? Any surprise names, under the radar guys?

*regarding any trade rumors linked, please keep it with verifiably LEGIT sources. The Rappaports (sp?) and Schefters of the world.

Reading Bengals and Patriots could be interested in a Higgins for Uche trade.
That would be interesting. I’ve been assuming that the NFL tradition of not trading players for players would hold, so any trades would be for draft picks.

with Judon down and Flowers gone I’m not sure I’d favor trading away any pass rusher, but if they picked up a replacement, maybe Malone?

I’m glad you’re looking at who the Pats should acquire. I’m not a fan of being a seller. Unless it’s Parker or Juju.

But why would Bengals trade Higgins when their window of rookie contract is closing in . Unless they feel Uche pulls them from a defensive hump perspective.

I feel we are overestimating uche.

If some team was crazy enough to take Parker or Juju’s contracts it would be the trade win of the century.

Two of the most baffling contracts in BB’s tenure.

Meaningless, unless it is a reliable reporter/source.

May I propose another rule for this thread, that any rumors/inside info must be sourced, with a link? Reading something by Schefter is very different than reading something written by Incarcerated Bob or Mo Chanel. Also, remember that an opinion piece about “deals that would makes sense“ is not relevant.

Agreed. This has always been the way. Post with a link or don’t post it at all.

I’m sure the Pats would make that trade but even the old Bengals were too smart to unless we “threw in” a #1 pick or 2 2nd rounders with Uche who makes it to IR almost as much as I. Wynn.
I think Higgins may be banged up this year but in the previous 3 years he probably had more catches, yards, and TD’s than any two of our receivers put together. We’re not getting him for a LB prone to injury..

Updated.

Isnt Higgins on the last year of his rookie deal?

Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are both free agents next year.

A 1 (or two 2s) PLUS Uche, with a low likelihood that Higgins would resign here? LOL.

funny thing is if the Pats do not re do Parkers deal, he could have been tradable. now? not unless other assets are attached

But at what price?
would assume Higgins would have a comp pick value, so that is the floor for a deal for him.
he is going to cost a lot in free agency and will be behind Chase with the Bengals, so I would think he is the one moved for the right deal.
I don't see him here, given the cost. Pats have paid JuJu, Parker. drafted Thornton, DD, Boutte. dumpster dove for Reagor. have to reconsider resigning Bourne. have to think the draft is where they look for upgrades.

You’re right and I bow to your expertise. How could I think of trading the next N’Keal Harry (44 catches) or the chance of drafting the likes of 2 lightning bolts like Chad Jackson (14 catches) & and Tyquan Thornton (24 catches) for a guy like Tee Higgins who outperformed all 3 of them (229 catches) and would very likely be our elusive WR1. Since he was a #2 pick without a 5th year option you only make the trade if an extension is worked out. Odds of that happening may be better than being able to extend Uche.

Might be a bit of a reach but I would ask the Commanders what the price would be for Jonathan Allen.
