During his Monday interview with Dennis and Callahan of WEEI, Brady shed some light on the Pats' early dominance.
"I think the great thing about our offensive football team, certainly with Josh (McDaniels) and I being together for as long as we have and having the chemistry that we have," Brady said. "We see things so much the same way now. All through the week when we're talking about the plays and the plan and the situation and as we get into late Saturday night when the game plan finally really comes together, and Sunday morning when we talk, and we're able to make adjustments so quickly. I think we try to find answers and solutions for any problems that the defense may present."
"If it's going to be a zone game we're going to play one way," Brady continued. "If it's going to be a man game, we're going to play another way. If it's a blitz game, we're going to play another way. Whatever they're going to do, we're going to switch up. And it's hard for the defense to do that, because it really takes 11 guys to make those types of adjustments. Offensive football, it's usually just the quarterback and the coordinator. If the quarterback can handle it and you've got the protection, and the receivers already know how to know the certain routes, if you just come up with different combinations and Josh has a lot of comfort that I can read the play out and make good decisions with the ball, then you have a lot of answers to the problems."
"So that's what football is about. Obviously moving the ball and scoring points is the key. How you do every week is going to take different shapes. You're going to face different gameplans, different coaches, 'Hey this is the way we're going to play the Patriots; this is what we're going to try to take away, this is what worked for them last week.' You have all your counterpunches. Yesterday we got into the game and did some things good in the red area and I thought we played better in the second half, certainly we ran the ball better in the second half, and that was the key to really a 60-minute game, which allows you to score the amount of points we scored."
