However, based on what I saw at the pro-bowl where it seemed like BB was putting Light inside on most snaps for some reason, and shifting Mankins over to the right, I wouldn't be surprised to see this OL formation to start off with; it would squeeze a year or two more out of Light:
Solder -- Light -- Koppen -- Mankins -- Vollmer
Illegal formation
Although you technically need 7 men on the line, they usually let this type of formation go because it's a bunch where the LT is just half a step behind.

He has been beefing up both marginal-sized, but admitted hard-***** Ryan Wendell,

I think center is a definite need in the coming seasons. Koppen has been abused up the middle progressively since 42.Many feel that Koppen is the weak cog in the run game, but he is vital in calling the passing game blocking. That may be the case, but people have tended to overlook that BB and Dante have been grooming two interior linemen as Center/guards for a few seasons now. It is getting to the time to graduate from the Dante School for NFL Offensive Linemen.
He has been beefing up both marginal-sized, but admitted hard-***** Ryan Wendell, a CG; and also tough-guy Rich Ohrnberger a GC, for one of them to assume the job of Next Generation Center.
We should expect one or both to make a move this season, with completion in 2013. However, the change over from Neal at RG and/or Mankins departure, might delay the transition a bit.
